***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Dang. I guess I'll eat store chicken quite awhile longer lol

Well, it certainly makes for easier going when you process 50 to 75 at a time. And when you are doing several hundred over a summer...

Besides, it is a labor saving device for personal use as well. Since I will never again eat a supermarket chicken now that I have tasted the real thing, I have a lot of chicken processing ahead of me. Think of how much a good lawn tractor costs and it puts the whole thing in perspective. I guess I COULD use a push mower over several acres, but... :)

Evening everyone! Well it looks like we are heading into another drought year here! For this time of spring it is really dry. Stuff in the garden isn't sprouting, its just to dry. My irs have been poor bloomers this year. Lots of buds didn't have enough moisture to open up and most that did only last for one day. I mowed today and it hadn't grown much, usually I'm mowing twice a week this time of year.
I put my baby goslin down on the ground with some of the chicks she has grown up with. She abandoned them is following the big Icelandic roo around! When he clucks for his hens she comes running! He looks at her like " what are you doing here!" . Its really funny to watch.
Had a new batch of g.pigs born this week,I'll add a pic of them. They are the prettiest batch I've had I believe. Also saw a neat pic of a Komodor that I thought those of you who have them might enjoy.

DD saw all the pheasants on Cuttlers site & started asking about them! That girl like all animals.

Cowboy we candled your eggs tonight, they are looking good. Think we tossed 2 during the first candling, but didn't have any quiters tonight. DD says they are taking FOREVER to hatch! Sure it has only been 2 wks, but the girl doesn't like waiting to blue chicks!

I downloaded the weather radio ap that News 9 was offering for free, loving it! I had other weather aps, but this one is the best. It is talking to me right now telling me to take action, move to safety since I am in the direct path. Tonight is going to be fun, think this is the 3rd hit we have already had. Not seen any hail yet, but I am sure that will change soon.

Doodle I pre-germinate alot of seeds. I will place them with wet paper towels in a ziploc, once they germinate then I plant them. Or is it your annuals that are not sprouting?

There is a beautiful, sweet smelling tree/shrub that is blooming on the property line of mine and my neighbor's house. I used to know what it's called, but can't, for the life of me remember right now. It's in bloom now and has butterflies all over it. By all over it, I mean HUNDREDS of butterflies. Today I captured photos of just a few.

Common Buckeye

Red Admiral

Painted Lady

Awesome you even know their names!

We just got hit so hard with hail that the ground is white. Think most has passed, but still pouring buckets of rain & lighting. Scared to see how the garden faired & upset I thinned my greenbeans today, think if I waited I may have had more survive.

The map makes me think the rest is going north of us. Sad to say DH soldiers are marching in from a wk of being in the field. Not alot you can do on a 12 mile road march when storm hits. They were suppose to be done about 1 so I am sure he will have nice things to say about getting caught up in this storm.

I wish your husband and those young folks well in these storms. My heart goes out to them. My second son is a staff Sargent at Ft. Binning, am thankful he will stay on this side of the Atlantic for a while.

Good night everyone
