***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Here's the earrings for the POOPS raffle! After much procrastination of my own, I finally got these finished.

The pic is a little blurry and the lighting stinks but it gives you the idea. A lot of the paler colors and details got washed out. They're much nicer when you can see them up close. In addition to the chicken beads, I had some easter egg beads left over so I made a few of those too. I hope everybody likes them.

those are adorable!

Hi everyone,,,,enjoying the beautiful weather :) I have a problem I need help with. My young duck had it's leg broken and the knee, in no pain as far as I can tell.but can't use it........what to do? I have no clue? would appreciate ideas , thanks

You have two options, you could try to splint it and see if it heals or take it to a vet for amputation if it's extremely broken. Either way sounds like you get a house duck for a while :) The lady my daughter used to get piano lessons from lived right by a lake and has done both with the ducks there with good results.

I could understand that from Mitzi, but now you have me concerned youfordz.. I prefer the females I think they look best...

Nanakat, I have my sweet potatoes, now I just barely put them under the dirt, right??? Do I leave them whole? When they sprout I pick off the sprouts?? How will they live after that will they have little roots w/ the sprouts? How long will I be able to take the sprouts off? How many should I expect per sweet potato??

Yes, just barely cover them. A sweet potatoe has eyes just like other potatoes and will make sprouts at each. Let the sprouts reach 4 - 5 inches and gently pull them from the potatoe. you can put them in a small jar of water in a sunny window to generate roots, or you can put each in a pot of potting soil to start the roots. Either way, the sprout must be kept moist to get roots.
If a sprout gets away from you and reaches more than 12 inches, you can cut it into several pieces and put in water...just make sure the leaves are growing up.

Kass - Here is the first of five that look the most like females. Maybe someone on the Okies thread can judge gender better than I.
