***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Had another hen go broody today. Makes number 5. Between all the chicks Carl hatched out for me, and what the broodies are doing I will end up with between 3 and 400 this season. Wow, no wonder my feed dealer likes me so much.

Just checking one more time before hitting the bed. It was a short day at work but a long evening. While I was screwing down the rubber floor I installed today I think I burnt my knees right through my jeans. Time to get some knee pads I guess.

Used to stand to drill and then install the screws but since my fusion in my back I just don't bend right these days!!

It's all good cowboy. Think everyone stayed out late enjoying the nice weather. Tomorrow will be a scorcher!

I am going to double check with the conservation center on post & see if they are interested in the turkeys. It is like a small zoo, plus they are the game wardens of Ft Sill. They have coyotes, wolves, bobcats, rabbits, lots of different birds including a few turkeys & some deer.
Bfrancis thanks for the info on the license. I am not interested in being that involved. Just think the eggs should have a chance.
Spent an hour outside with the golden retriever mix. She is finally getting along with one of my boys still have to work on the other. Poor freckles is so scared of her now he won't leave the porch, unless she is on the chain or in the dog pen. I am going to keep working with them this wk.
DH got stuck at work tonight. Crazy how he has to work late to referee adults arguments.

Just another fine example of the Government trying to control something that dont mount to much anyway. I have hatched wild goose eggs and I have a sibling with wild turkey eggs in bator now, same scenerio as yours, hen killed. The government is making it to the point a person cant tell the truth without them trying to control it. I for one have just about had it. I served my country, got injuried doing so. I served my state for many years in law enforcement. And now I have to still jump thru hoops to please both of them. Well I better stop for I say what I really think.

But I think in your shoes, I would hatch the dang things.

I completely agree with you!! I am getting tired of every thing being *wrong*. We had someone break into our home a few years ago. I guess they did not realize those great big dogs in the backyard could get into the house. Well when they came out of the bedroom they had crawled into and entered the hall they had a BIG surprise waiting. Needless to say there was a trail through the house leading to the front door. When we got home and called the police they were more concerned about the fact that the dogs had done their job than anything else!! Excuse me? Never did find them, but then we did not loose anything!

That is an owl DD found yesterday under the cattle guard. She took the pic with her phone, so not sure how good it will show up. The owl looks nice & cute but it was growling & hissing at the dogs.

NNbreeder. I insisted in those knee pads since we have done our share of floors on the rent houses. The knee pads are AWFUL. They always fall down & I think they hurt as bad as kneeling without them. Think mine are craftsman, if you get some avoid those!

Oooh that looks so cute. Although I must say it also looks downright mad! LOL

Elwood I loved those pics!! I wish I had a pond. Fishing is one of my big loves in life, unfortunately I don't get to do that much anymore. Anyone need their ponds fished?

That is one of lifes little tricks on a person. I have excese meat on every part of my body EXCEPT my knee caps. I cant hardly crawl in the back of my pickup to get something with out the blanket I keep back there to put undr my knees. Dang shame I cant learn to crawl on my belly. It could probable take it.

hi guys- been doing some research on the wasps that prey on flies- has anyone used them? reading alot of good stuff, and why we have been inundated with flies- besides the chickens, they love moisture- so the ducks are contributing- so am going to order some of these and see how well it works-

Years back when I cowboyed for a living in the feed yards I worked at they used the wasps around the feedbunks and they did a good job.
