***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Deanne...great photos!!! Thank you for sharing them so quickly.

I see some faces of folks I needed to spend more time visiting! Guess this means I need to make the trpi to Muskogee next month so I can visit with them. Can't get enough of those neat chicken folk.

Ksane..it was nice meeting you also.
Well said!
I so enjoyed visiting with everyone. Cottonwood allergies put a damper on my energy but the food, raffle and the birds were all great too.
- I had to have 2nds on the Tabbouleh salad and corn pudding.
- I won the bucket nipple waterer, having been wanting to try those and have the perfect spot.
- I actually only came home with one little chick! I sure helped other folks acquire birds though.

Our friend Sarah sure had a good time. Thank you everyone for making her feel welcome!

Okla-doodle-doo I thought about you last night when Jaxon acquired the guinea pigs. There were 4 in the cage, three females and a male. He bought 2 females. If we are going to have them, how long will it be before we have "littles" in addition to our current girls? Do they need a nest box?

Yep, it was great! Everyone that worked so hard to make it a success did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed meeting so many of you, and I won't feel so hesitant about posting on the board now that I know you! My friend, Chrissy, who came with me is starting a campaign to get her husband to get internet so she can join the board. She hated having to leave so early, but her mother took a fall off her horse at a parade yesterday morning and had to be rushed to the hospital.

If there were any plants in the perennial selection that any of you would like to have had but didn't win in the raffle, let me know. I have more of everything and usually have plants left after plant sales.

Christina, the chicks made it home in great shape and I think my granddaughter has already spoiled every one of them. I think the girl is well on her way to becoming a chicken whisperer! The Serama roo from retired army wife got to go play in the rabbit pen with her already this morning. I have a portable pen where the kids take the rabbits for "play time" and the roo (now re-named Serama Sam) had a blast scratching around and eating grass.

Anyway, thanks for all the warm welcomes and I look forward to seeing all of you again.

(Stuff we plant 'my way' ends up looking like it fell off a truck and took root in that spot by accident. My grandmother would always say "That's okay honey, it won't be noticed galloping by on a black horse at midnight." She also held up a clothes iron to me one time when I was a fully grown woman and said "Honey, do you know what this is?"

What a priceless sence of humor! My Grandmother had a few real zingers, all the more funny since she was usually quite reserved.

Looks like Fiesty the Silkie was overly cuddled by my other 4 week old chicks. It passed away sometime during the night. My 5 yr old seems pretty brave about it though. She just said if she gets another one of those she is gonna name it Fiesty too :(
