***OKIES in the BYC III ***

My Mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in law stopped in to see the goings on with all the birds, booths and raffle table and to just check out what was going on. They didn't stay long, but were extremely impressed with how friendly people were and had fun looking at all the birds.

My MIL is 85 and had never seen a silkie before...she couldn't believe that a chicken had no feathers but was all fluff. She was also intrigued by the free Serama in the cage. They didn't stay for lunch, although they were invited by several folks. BIL didn't have his insulin and SIL was afraid MIL was getting warm. MIL was attracted to the pink afghan on the raffle table.

I was lucky enough to win that lovely afghan made by one of our BYC wives.
MIL was thrilled and already has it displayed on her bed.

oh yeah, MORNING EVERYBODY!!!!!!

up and about, to get outa bed, i think. old people just cant do it anymore, way to long a day, and way to long a drive.

had fun, wife had fun, and as soon as i figure out how to get pics off my phone i will post some.

They *are beautiful, too!! Did the Pheasant eggs hatch, Brandy?
I got the prettiest Blue Splash Silkie from Betsy, 2 Spangled Cornish Bantams from GotGame I just LOVE! And 2 little beachball Buff Orpington chicks from Bill along with some of his bamboo cane (thank you, Bill!!) and a Black Birchen Modern Bantam pullet from 2 boys. And both my Silver Laced Cochin chicks hatched today! 1 this morning before we left and one while we were gone! So I have 3 Silver Laced Cochins hatched with 5 Silver or Gold Laced eggs to go into lockdown this week. I put the little Orpingtons in with the 2 newly hatched Cochins under a heat lamp and they all 4 spread out like tiny puddles and went to sleep. I'm loving all these birds, they're all real healthy looking. One of the Cornish bantams even laid an egg on the way home, I'm going to incubate it and see if by chance it'll hatch.
Oh!! And I won the 2012 POOPS platter that Christina made and *2* pairs of Carla's earrings in the raffle!!! I couldn't believe I got those things! I wanted them so bad :))) I stuck a bunch of raffle tickets in Nana's soap, too, but someone else got that. I'm real happy with these birds I got. I didn't realize Orpington chicks were even bigger than LF Cochin chicks.
I didn't hardly even get to talk to Jim! I didn't know he was leaving so soon. Jim, I wanted to give you a hard time and you didn't give me a chance to.
It was really nice to see everyone. I'm glad we just had an hour's drive home instead of 2 or 3 like some of you.
Robin, it looks like 2 boys and 2 girls to me. And you might have 2 Blue Salmon boys actually. If you do you're really lucky and will love that color.

sorry mitzi, had a long drive home. wife went to buy the modern hen, but it was gone! now i can tell her where it went! next time we see you get ready for the stink eye!!!!!

Just dragged the kids out of bed, we are all moving slow today, but now got to get outside & work on the pen for my new mandrian ducks. Need to make sure it is Ft Knox. They would be a quick bite for any snake.

Felt like I didn't really visit with many folks yesterday. Running the egg contest kept me busy, so sorry if I didn't get much chance to talk to you! I promise I wasn't being rude.

OkieT I was looking for you, sorry to hear that you had a family emergency to tend to. I was worried that maybe we didn't make you feel welcome.

P&B Jaxon is an awesome kid. Did he get his rabbit last night? He showed me which one he was after. I thought the guinea pigs were taking place of the rabbit. He insisted he came for a rabbit & that was the rabbit he wanted.

POOPS was great. Me, Molly and Ethan want to thank all the folks that did most of the work to get this thing done. Won lots of neat plants in the raffle. Sold all my oreintal fowl I had there. Meet some new people, got to see some friends that I have made on here and at last years POOPS. Exposed Molly to the world of BYCers. She had fun. We loaded up and took the NNs that didnt sale to Newcastle to the auction. Bought about 30 pounds of ripe tomatoes. I am about to burst from eating on them last night and this morning already. Bought 22 dozen eggs for hardly nothing. Going to bowl for the chicks. Got to bed about 2 am this morning. That added up to a 21 hour day. I am too old for that.
