***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Lil Sooner is GORGEOUS!!! in that dress. Bet she had to beat the boys off with her purse!!!
A well placed heel on a big toe does wonders, and you don't have to worry about breaking a nail!

LOL, she has two big brothers so she fights dirty & could careless about nails~ She can hold her own, I have taught groin, nose, bread basket!

DH got a wonderful trio from NanaKat!!! He was happy to hear about that. He has been wanting some but we had kind of decided on not buying any. Well he didn't have to, lol.
Soo glad he likes them.. they are a wonderful breed. I'm hooked too.
Hope everyone had fun at poops! I wanted to go but couldn't make it

next year!
There is a get together in Muskogee next month for the NE part of the state but there will be BYC folks there from all over.

Quote:
There were a pair of pretty "rose colored glasses" left on a table on the West side of the pavilion, where the T-shirts, raffle tickets and Fun Chick's pretty bags/jewelry were being sold. If the owner will send me a PM, I will mail them. NanaKat? Sooner? Funchick?

Not mine...although hubby sometimes thinks I see the world thru rose-colored glasses

Our friend Sarah sure had a good time. Thank you everyone for making her feel welcome!
Sarah won my heart when she asked if she could buy the 7 roosters I had and said "They won't be eatten. They will become pets and run with the guineas. She is true chicken person!

Maddie--so beautiful, and smart and sweet; definitely a winning combination!

Vashi and I both enjoyed POOPS once again. Though he worked hard and steadily making things easier for me, he said it was a good "vacation" for him. Can't say enough about the wonderful people who worked so hard to make this a success. Good choice of facilities, 'though I selfishly wish it were closer to us! Everyone was so good to pitch in with tasty food, enjoyed by all. It was so good to get to visit briefly with old friends and meet a lot of new ones as well.

The minute we pulled up, Dakota was right there offering to help us unload, which he did quickly and well. I noticed from my first POOPS that helping out is something he's always willing to do--and he does it voluntarily! Jaxon was quickly right there to visit and check out the chicks. He's become an important part of my POOPS experience, as he always comes to spend a bit of time talking with me. Chad is another I very much enjoy visiting with. And Annabelle, Yonna and Virginia--the list could go on and on. Even got another hug from Stray! I continue to be impressed with all the youngsters at POOPS. It's obvious their parents and grandparents are dong a great job with them. One of the things I like most about this event is that it is familiy oriented and there's always something for the kids, who are unusually well behaved.

Much thanks to Sherry (BirdWalkFarm), who brought me a beautiful dozen coral blue guinea eggs. They'll go in the 'bator tomorrow!

Won't even try to list any of the adults I've come to enjoy and always look forward to seeing again. Wish I'd had more time to just "visit," but we thoroughly enjoyed this event again!

Morning all~ Boy do I feel rough this morning! I hope everyone else is doing better!
Here is Lil'Sooner all dressed up:
Oh my word, she's beautiful, that color fits her perfectly! I always wanted flowers like that all around, I still do. I just always seem to have too much other stuff I'm trying to get done.

Betsy, I do love this Splash Silkie girl! She seems so young, she's tamed right down into a lap chicken now.

Oh Gunmama, that is so sad. I know how much you wanted a silkie for your daughter. Though Feisty sounds like a family trait as well as a great name for a chicken. I am constantly surprised at how well my daughter bears up under chicken loss. She is usually back playing in a few minutes and not nearly as wistful as her mother. I am sure someone on this board can help you Find the next Feisty

CityClucks....Ironing and Grannies you have no idea the warm memories that brings back to me. My favorite one from her was " you can get glad in that same pants you got mad in" ...it was all purpose and used for comfort and dressing down depending on facial expression and tone of voice. Thank you for posting that precious memory.

I had such a great time at POOPS and only wish I could have stayed and closed the place down. Or at least stayed through the raffle...dang it I wanted those Iris!

Everyone was so nice, and both my my friend Shawna and myself are very pleased with our chickens and thrilled to have met so many nice welcoming folks. I am so pleased that my chickens that I brought were nice enough that someone wanted them for some reason or another. I was so convinced that no one would want them, I was thrilled they all went to good homes.

The food! Oh Mah goodness ya'll put on a SPREAD. I had to pretend I did not see that dessert table and WALK AWAY. It would have been embarrassing if I had done to what I wanted with that buffet. Thank goodness there were so many things going on...at the non-food end of the building. And I have to also say that whoever decided that this is the place and time for POOPS deserves a pat on the back for the beautiful weather and the perfect setting.

I also need to say that the music selection was a personal favorite of mine. I heard Junior Brown, Don Williams, Johnny Cash, and Roger Miller and they are all such particular favorites of mine that I need to apologize if any if you heard me singing out loud. It was so great that I know that someone personally selected each and every song that was played and whoever that was you did a spectacular job. IMHO

As a retired school administrator/art teacher....I almost spit my coffee out on that one. Chaperoned many a dance in my years of service.
I'm afraid she wouldn't of had much fun (along with most of the kids there) if I were to chaperone! She's a really good kid & isn't really too worried about having boyfriends like most of the girls so that helps my sanity.

KSane I can't take credit for those flowers, my MIL has all those wonderful flowers in her back yard & that is only one spot in her back yard. She has them everywhere.

Thank you Betsy, she thinks alot of you & always looks forward to seeing you!
