***OKIES in the BYC III ***

mj that is good looking feathering on those legs.

Wayne sorry to hear of the loss of your companion, it's always rough to lose a good friend.

Oceans what in the world do you do with a turtle that big?? Don't dare ever mention it to my daughter! She still thinks we needs emus sheep alpaca & a lama to complete our farm!

It took me a lot of tries to post what I just did. The site kept telling me that there wasn't any text in the box. LOL
It has been doing that for me for several days intermittently. When it does it I click the icon by the refresh icon the one that looks like a torn piece of paper then it lets me post.

Before I wasn't seeing all of the icons at the top of the reply box but now I do.

What I did was to go full page on the editor and it worked fine. When I brought it up full page is when I made the icon connection.

Anyone heard how baby Lily is doing? Saturday Scoots said she went back into the hospital Thursday (I think) but they were hoping she would be released soon. Hope she makes it home soon & doesn't have any return visits!

lol he's a pet. We've had him for 10 years, they are the second largest tortoise next to the galapagos. He is an african spur thighed or sulcata. They live to be 150 years old. :( Basically you feed them and keep them warm and they look at you with annoyance when you pet their heads.

Quote: Thank you Don. They are really turning into a lovely flock. That one pullet is even prettier in person. The pictures just don't do her justice. The rooster Beau is out of Carl's huge rooster. And the older hens are from his breeder pen. I am a very lucky chick to have these gorgeous birds. They are mking some beautiful offspring.

Well its a sad Memorial day for us for sure. Some of you have met our little "retirement child" Izzy. She jumped out a ditch right in front of a motorcycle this afternoon. They were very nice and stopped and told us and apologized but there was no way they could avoid her. She was really like our child and will be missed greatly. At least it was fast and she didn't suffer.
OklaDoodle, I'm so sorry about your Izzy. Losing a lap baby is like losing a child. We lost our chihuahua Prissy right after we moved to the farm. It sent both of us into a tail-spin. We could never "have" a small dog after that. It just didn't seem right. She had Roger wrapped around her little toenail and was the sweetest girl. I really feel your loss.

I really appreciate the breeding process, because ill-tempered birds are not allowed to procreate. This line is extra gentle and sweet. AND huge! Beau stands a full 18 inches tall and is at least 14 inches wide. A big coop doorway is necessary for him. The girls are big too. Your hubby will need to take their full grown size into consideration when planning the coop both for the doorway and the roost area.
Right now the girls have taken a vacation from laying and one of the girls is broodie on an empty nest. She was sitting on OEGB eggs along side the Blue Wyandotte hen. I took the eggs because they didn't hatch.

Here are a couple pics of my LF Buff cochins. I'm happy with their foot feathering!

Also here are pics of the little OEs or Ameraucanas. The 2 Blues are different shades of blue, one is a bit "browner".

Sorry about the strange posts with mixed up pics and words! I am having trouble getting this right.
MJ...I loved the pictures anyway. The Buff are really big. I'm loving my chicks hatched from Bo's eggs. They are sooooo personality peepers!

starting to sprinkle and thunder here. Hope we get lots of rain. Of course I watered the garden today because I didn't realize it was supposed to rain. Guess it pays to watch the TV every once in a while, lol. Well back to the working world tomorrow, only two days this week since I am taking Thursday off.
Me too. We have been promised rain the past two times and only got 1/4 inch. So I've been running the water to the garden every day. I just hope this time we don't get the hail....my tomatoes are really producing. We picked 6 red ones today...yummy for dinner.
