Thats what I have been doing too! YUCK on the eggplant though!! lolTodays big goal is to get some weeding done in my veg garden befor the sun gets up and makes it just to darn hot. Got lots of yummy thing growing and im sure it will grow better w/o weeds stealing all its food. Got my first egg plant yesterday. was a lil small but had to pic it. it was pulling the plant over. Think i will use it to make some roasted veggies.
PM me your email addy and I'll send you the ones I have.Nanakat, I don't think I ever answered about the tomatillo recipes, yes I would like some. I have never grown or eaten it before.
I hang my feeder and that seems to help. I use a piece of wire to hang it from. Since i don't have a rain guard on my feeder, I poke a nail hole thru a lid for an ice cream bucket and slide that onto the wire to shed any rain coming down the wire. I also use a corner of a layena bag cut like a cone and make it big enough to reach over the feeder's trough like an umbrella. It also keeps the birds from trying to roost on top of the feeder.Good Morning All, I need some advice, help or whatever you got. I moved my feeder and waters outside the coop. there's just not room inside. I can't seem to keep the feed dry. I know we probably won't get so much more rain but really, the rain was practically horizontal the other night and it ruined what i had out under an old table. Any suggestions?
I have 13 chickens. 12 pullets and one Sergeant Major roo. Or maybe he's a Marine. I just know he's very stern and serious about his job and boy was he not happy to find wet feed for his flock.
