I am excited for the weekend to get here next week. i don't think I am bringing any thing but can't wait to see everyone!!! Was there someone on here a while back selling some Bresnia incubators, or does anyone have one to loan out for the summer!!! I have some project crosses I want to try out! I had a hen setting some I was working on and she decides about a week in to abandon the nest! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Always with the special eggs, never the mutts or later crosses! Ohhh NOOO has to be the one nest that is special!!! Ok I am off my soapbox! Back to square one, not like I aint been there before!! Have a great day yall!! Lynn

Eli, I hope your daughter continues to get better. I know how scary it is when they get sick like that.
And this from a guy who a year ago swore he would never buy another auction bird. Funny how our priorities change.
Well now you're scaring me! That's what I've resolved not to do-no auction birds or chicks. I've had one problem after another with sicknesses with them. What was your reasoning behind staying away from auction birds?
Hey did anybody catch the add on OKC Craigslist for the 74 FREE chickens. They were wanting them picked up by last night.
74 chickens?? I wonder what happened.

MacGuyver, would you be able to meet me this week sometime and I'll give you the guineas? I'm south of Guthrie, it doesn't make sense to drag them all the way to Muskogee and then you drag them all the way back when we're both in the same area to start with. They make as much noise as turkey babies sometimes but I'm actually going to miss them.

Erm. Meeting you isn't a problem. Brooder space is a problem though. How old are they? Will they still need a heat lamp? I'm getting rid of a rooster in Muskogee and finishing another coop this week, so that will clear out two spaces in my big brooder. I was kind of thinking of doing all the bird swapping around after that, but if you need to get rid of them sooner, I can wing it.

survived the double birthday bash with the kiddos. Got all my chicks fed and watered this morning. Have to take a pic of new chicks and post later. having probs at the moment with phone gerrr. Just wanted to say thank you to okeiridge for the help in hatching these cuties. elie i have four water bottles set up for the weekend how many will we need?

I need to do some garden work to, and I might later this evening, but I'm going to learn and photo document the big "C" today.

Oh and I am meeting my three new chickie doos that Poco was kind enough to hatch for me from eggs I traded w/ bycer in Arkansas. (two of them are probably going to end up supper eventually though don't know if that should be this

New chicks! Woke up to 40 New World quail; Gambel's, California Valley, Blue Scale, and one pied peachick from another incubator. So the peachick won't be by itself, put it in the quail brooder for now...have another bator full of pheasant scheduled to hatch tomorrow, so if no other peachicks hatch (out of 6) it can live with the pheasant chicks.

(Elwood Lightfoot, some of your eggs could have chicks like this!)

BTW, My "big egg turner" is full, set another 6 when these went into lockdown...so any peafowl eggs laid between now and next Friday will be for sale at NEOCS.
