***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Oh. And while we're at it...I have ***2*** Guineas, actually that's 1 more than I want. A month ago a purple Guinea showed up in our yard and I had to pawn it off on someone. Now last night 3 more Guineas showed up! They just seem to take up with my 2 and mine show them where all the feeders are and they settle in to stay

. Somebody tell them I don't LIKE Guineas. And there's a girl in the bunch-I heard her!
SWEET! Guineas!

The stupidity of guineas amaze me. I've been outside calling mine for half an hour. I'm throwing treats left and right to all my other birds. About decided mine are gone, go inside for a minute, come back out and I can see them at one of our fences pacing. It's a four foot fence?? Seriously? Fly over it! Or walk another 8 feet to your right and go AROUND the unfinished fence...... really??

A dear friend of mine once said "Remember, for all the guineas in the world, there is only one brain cell. And it's never your guinea's turn to have it."

here is a thought, get another young hen that is more passive, keep them together for a week or so, so she has a buddy to be integrated with, then have them in a seperate area where the others can see them for a week or so, the integrate the two to the main flock...
That always works well for me or I take the origional hens out of the pen and put the new ones in with the rooster for a few days then reintroduce the origional hens.
