***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We had 32 kids with us today on a 45 - 60 minute bus ride to Tuttle. We had a blast! Love the white tigers there.

I got to pet the baby white tiger! Yeah!

Was wandering what all that noise was from today. lol Not too far from my place.

Well home and got birds taken care of, corn bread in the oven so we can have beans for dinner. I lost one of my golden salmon roosters today. Kurt said his neck was broken. Not sure how that could have happened unless his 3 girls ganged up on him. It isn't the end of the world since I have a roo in reserve for that pen but I always hate to loose one. He was one of our first birds we bought when we started on the chicken journey so kind of bummed. I am just glad he apparently went quickly.

I think I am going to try to take some birds to auction this weekend. I will have to see what is going on with the fireworks stand first we open Friday so it depends on if hubby needs me there. I really want to sell a few pairs of my Splash and my Golden Salmon marans. My FBCM's are finally laying! I love the eggs. One laid her first today, it wasn't real dark but the other 2 that are laying are dark with good color, not as dark as I want but that I will work on.

I am going to have to move birds to new brooders tonight. Can't believe here I had my last hatch for the summer and I am out of room, lol. If I could just bring myself to use the wire floor brooders we have I would have plenty of space but worry about them. I need to get some of that rubbermaid shelf liner to put in them, of course that defets the ease of cleaning those brooders, haha.

Well I hear the oven beeping so off to get dinner on the table so I can get to bed, really want to watch the game tonight but doubt I do it has been a busy week so far.

Well you know why the Chicken crossed the road don't ya!?!?

awww, i adore my guineas!! but they think in group think... currently they hang out by the small coop waiting for me to let mama guinea and babies out... gotta wait till they can fly some...they have been having flight practice- their navigation skills aren't the best!

and one of the orp teens looked like she was practicing to be broody....:)lo

Love the white tiger pics, that is awesome. There is a family run "zoo" in Okmulgee that is more of a petting type zoo in that you get to interact w/ most of the animals. Last year their tigers were young and small enough that we could interact w/ her, within a week of this pic she gained to much weight to be allowed out of her caged area w/ zoo guests present, but it was such a thrill to get to interact w/ this cat!

I will probably never get to interact like this w/ another big cat, but I will never forget this it was way cool!!!!!!
