i do know that feeling, but the only way we learn sadly is by mistakes- i hadn't thought that much about quarantining until i had that silkie roo shipped in, and i have lost birds to exactly what you shared- for now, these birds are isolated- until i find out what is going on-

There were 70's?? May be that I remember hearing about something like that

The tech that did that CT scan said she's had both and the stones were the worst, It was a rough night and a tough morning I stayed home I figured the convicts might think me weak if they saw me writhing on the floor and crying "NOt! that I did that of course" (in my deepest macho voice) (but it could have happened) The meds they gave me helped but the whole experiance has changed my opinion about hard narcotics, I think it might have passed

I'm feeling almost normal again I do take vit-D and some other supplements and I drink a lot of water since I gave up soda pop, I don't drink coffee in the summer and have some tea once in a while, but I will be looking into what ever it takes to reduce the chance that I ever have another one of those things,
I'm pretty sure the thing had to have been made of a golf ball, a broken pop bottle, some rusty nails and a very ripe habanero pepper

I'm showing it to be 112 outside just now and a high of 114 a little while ago, Make you wonder of people in Africa ever say "Man it's Oklahoma Hot out there!!"
Hope everyone is staying safe out there in this heat

Bill the ER should have given you a strainer to use to catch the stone. There are three types of stones from what I have read and the best info is on the website for the Mayo Clinic as they devoloped most of the tools to deal with stones. Before a course of action can be chosen they first have to know what type of stone it is.

Christina, my birds are looking bleached out from the sun, does that happen to yours? They look faded. And even the ones without males in with them look like their feathers are tattered, what's up with that? Too many mud baths? They're wet a LOT from being under the sprinklers, maybe that dries their feathers out or something. They sit under the spray from the sprinkler in the shade and just shake the water off every so often. It must feel good

but they get to looking like drowned rats.
Mike, my Bantam Faverolles are laying like crazy also. Does your friend want LF or Bantams?

Molting time!! Soon your pens will look like your birds are having big pillow fights while you are away. The ground here is white with goose feathers.

Yes, we are trying to education our customers, but it is an uphill battle. They associate white eggs with factory farms.

What about using one of the charts that show what breeds lay what colored eggs? Be a good way to educate on a lot of gereral knowledge of the different breeds.

It would also show what good layers the production breeds are and why you would also use them in a pasture operation.

Came home early today to spend time with the kids, got outside and made sure all waterers are full of cool water and let the guinea babies out of the hoop house. It is just to hot I feel like they have a better chance of staying cool if I let them out during the day. I put a small sprinkler out for my smallest guinea babies and the CWs. My CW roo is feeling better so hoping this helps him stay cooler.

Came home to find Jennifer broke both pairs of her good glasses (her regular pair AND the back up pair) then today wearing her old glasses they "fell off her face and she stepped on them" can we all say "suspicious!" Okay kid rant over, lol.

Everyone please stay in when you can. It is just to hot out there. I have the soaker hoses on almost continually for the garden right now. I probably will loose 3 rose bushes plus the roses I got at POOPS. We have been watering but I think it is just so hot outside they can't take it. I have the sprinkler going for the trees in the front of the house and it is hitting the suburban. The suburban is DRY by time the sprinkler comes by again!

The pair I have on are the type that the hinges have the springs in them but even they don't fare well when slept in. I used superglue to fix the broken ear piece and it is holding very well. I had to re-do it the other morning because again I fell asleep with them on. First fix was six months ago. And these are the full metal frames.

Well in two weeks I officially start to work in Enid. Really nice guys run the company too, I could tell that the heat had them worn down but it didn't affect their personality.

Will be back to working on semis and heavy equipment which I really love to do. I will have to get up to speed on the electronics of the trucks but that shouldn't take long to do.

We have found a house that we would like to rent too after getting shot down on the first one we found. As much trouble as it has been to find the owner I sure hope we are rewarded at the end.

I think it was identified with the CT scan so the strainer wasn't needed, they didn't seem to concerned that it might not pass just that it might be uncomfortable when it did, I think might be over with or rather I haven't hurt since yesterday afternoon so I'm hoping it is anyway,
