***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Mike I have some feed bags for you--- gotta remember to put them in the van one day when I am going to anadarko.
I am sure if you saw my garden that was my place. When you top the hill my garden is pretty easy to see. Runs in front of the barn. The front 10 acres is in hay & we sit back in the tree line.

Still so hot the dogs refuse to to outside so when I get up @ 430 I will try & kick them out for a few hours.

Quote: I live on the North side of Hwy 9 and 192nd which is NE of the fires. Hoping that the fire doesn't jump the hwy, but we have been getting alot of ash out here and that is scary. Been running the sprinkler all day and night. Still going. My heart goes out to all of the people who have lost their homes, animals, and land. Such a sad day. This heat has been bad enough but adding the drought and fires. We need some major prayers for Oklahoma.

Prayers for your safety.
Glad to hear some are safe and fearful for others in the path. Hope the night temperatures help bring down the winds so firefighters can get a better handle on some of these fires. Hate to hear the fire near Luther was purposefully set.

While watching the news, we cut and prepped 32 pounds of jalepenos and after dinner put up 23 quarts of Bread and Butter Jalepenos.
Forgot to pull out the rubber gloves so my arthritis is enjoying the capcasin but my skin is burning.

Good morning Okies,
I am heading to Noble, to the Farmer's Mkt to set up the table for the Noble Beekeepers. Someone else will actually stay with the table today, but since Noble is scheduled to have a city wide garage sale, I am looking forward to looking around. Hopefully, the Slaughterville fire didn't affect Noble too badly.

Praying for rain.

Good morning friends and neighbors!

The weather guessers are callin` for 110° and high winds which will only make fighting the wildfires more difficult, so lets keep everybody in harm`s way in our thoughts and prayers!

A smile can brighten the darkest day. :)

The news of the fires is frightening. Thank you, to those who posted where the fires were. With as dry as the pastures and wooded areas are, it's a wonder we haven't had more fires in our area.

I lost a few birds to the heat on Friday. I worked all day so I wasn't able to spray the pens around lunch time. I don't know that it would have made a difference. The birds I lost were, with only one exception, those that had symptoms of heat stress earlier this summer.

We don't have students in class until this Thursday, but I've already met and talked to about a dozen who will be in my classes. Wal-Mart and Homeland seem to be places for students to congregate and chat. I'm glad to see that my potential students are upbeat and eager to be back in class. Have a great day, everyone. Maybe we'll have a freak thunderstorm to cool everything off.

X2, well said!
Thinking of you all, North and South of us.

Jack and Elie Mae went to Harrah auction last night and it was MUCH cooler inside. Pat (auction owner) had a big swamp cooler and an air conditioner inside and had sprinklers running over the outside of the building and it was in the low 90's inside. I never thought that the 90's would sound cool. DH and I were thinking about when we lived in San Diego and 72* sounds so cold now. I would need a sweater.
