In 2001, we got our first leghorns from Fisher's in Bristow. We were there to buy feed for our cows and saw a note posted on their bulletin board. The chickens were laying machines, but were so flighty that I haven't wanted white leghorns since. Thanks, Nana.
On the $1 birds I have been obsessing about the last couple of days...
The company is Fisher's in Bristow. Here is their website:

I watched a video of the birds and it looks more like the beaks are merely trimmed rather than clipped. Here is what clipped looks like (NOT from their farm):
And here is a picture from the video showing the some of the Fisher birds:
So when I think of the top pic, I feel this bird is severely handicapped for pasture operations. The birds below from Fisher Farm, I could see them pulling at grass or pecking bugs just fine.
Just wanted to clarify as I'm always concerned about giving out bad information.
praying for you guys and little Bear with his teddy just makes it so precious- you are so special! i grew up in california, we had firestorms there, this reminds me of that- as long as the winds don't shift, sounds like you'll be okluckily that's looking to the east, so as long as the wind doesn't shift, i think we'll be spared![]()
