I'm seriously thinking of taking those eggs back out from under the Cochin girls. I candled them and just saw yolks and no veins so the Guinea girl probably just started sitting yesterday when she wasn't out and about. Now that I see how cool it is with mama chicks and their babies I'm wanting to put a few chicken eggs under the 2 Cochins. I've got 4 game fowl eggs I was going to put in the incubator. Do you think the Cochins would be upset if Shamo babies hatched out? lol
Doting moms believe their babies are the most beautiful....

The dr did mention checking my blood for metal levels-- no tick or mosquito type problems show up in my blood work. My blood counts are good & they actually say I don't have any inflamation.... Which is what made them go with fibromyalgia. I feel swollen but no visible swelling. I printed out a few logs to chart my activity & symptoms. I want to have some to take to the Dr next time. By the time I drive 40 min to the dr & wait 30+ minutes to see the dr I usually can't think of much besides I don't feel good. Will be easier to hand her a copy of what I have had going on for her to look over then me try to remember how much medicine I have had & how I felt. Hopefully they can find something to fix... But preparing for the possibility that what I have going on my be chronic.
Did they test for gout (uric acid) ? Hubby now takes .5 mg of Dexamethasone (steroid) every other day and that along with his gout medicine Uloric is keeping his pain under control
I have a question what do y'all use for preventing mites I have heard 7 dust but wanted to get yalls opinions.
Ivomec and I have dust boxes available that have ashes, fine sand and Sevin dust 5%. Some people put DE in their dust boxes also.

I've got pics of the new chickie doos, they are bad pics through the incubator plastic but they are on post 67

Baby pics are addicting....

Got my thumb and forearm smashed today between the trailer wall and the segment gate by the bull when I tried to help swing the gate over for hubby when we were loading the cattle. My right thumb is twice it's size and going to be really blue....Think I have a crack in the radius bone of the forearm just past the wrist...really tender to the touch and swollen. I can move all the bones and knuckles. So will keep the ice and wrap on for a while. Living on a farm does have it's hazards.

We were able to bring all but 4 head home this morning. Had one cow that just would not bring her calf up for cubes in the pen today. The extra trailers out on the road spooked her...one of the most gentle cows ever...will eat cubes from your hand and loves attention....but today she was "not gonna do it". ...couldn't even get her close to the loading pen. Rather than leave her on the 160 by herself with the calf, we turned out two bred heifers to keep her company. We knew the bull wouldn't stay in that pasture with just one cow. The boys are taking a trailer back to park by the barn so she will get used to it being there. Should be able to load them out later this week. Will take a few days of feeding in the pen for us to close the gate on them.

I love the baby pics, Kass!! Isn't hatching the most awesome thing??? Now do you see why I'm so addicted to it? lol
This really should be illegal for someone who lives in town!

Even w/ all the negatives w/ this hatch and that I am going to have so few for the eggs I started w/ this REALLY should be illegal.

Oh man! I missed frillback pigeons?? I want some frillbacks so bad. Still trying to talk my husband into it.

Well, the boys took the trailer over, hid it behind some trees and lured the four head to the pen with the feed truck. Took a little more enticing with some cubes but they got all four and just got home with them.
Hubby is persistant!

Dinner tonight is fried cabbage, peas, deviled eggs, and lemon roasted chicken with watermelon for dessert.

Glad you caught 'em, and dinner sounds nummy. We had chicken strips and blueberries. I was going to give people some hot tortillas too, but by the time I finished frying all the chicken strips they'd inhaled their food and were into dessert. *smdh*
