***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Nice roo!

Still not caught up on the thread...
Welcome to any new folks I've missed.
Hoping there are more fair results to rejoice about

We took portable panels to our 160 in Prague and set up a loading pen.
headed out to move cows home from there in a few minutes.. Even with the rain, not enough grass for that herd. We hve been taking a bale every other day. ( 18 pair, 11 bred heifers and the bull).

Boys are ready to go....see ya'll later!

I have one chickie doo this morning, I am so excited I really didn't think any would hatch. This first one is a houdan. Can't wait until she gets some friends. She keeps laying down and sleeping a lot is that normal, she is dry but she pipped, zipped, and hatched all some time after midnight.

I may have figured out how to post pictures from my phone.

I got that awkward tag off Nugget's wing today. I feel she is more comfy now.

Here is a pic of my Swedish Flower Hen babies with their momma.

This is Father Jacob, or Padre Jake, my first "keeper" rooster of the year. I plan on picking out two more from this summer's hatch, but they need to get a bit bigger first.

Hooray, Kass!! Yea, that's normal. They're super tired most of the 1st day. You're so lucky to get a Houdan, I hope everyone else hatches! I might need to see if I can find some Houdan eggs next........lol I thought I was done hatching, why do I still want more???

You crack me up for days with the names you give your chickens

Ha! That's actually a pretty "normal" name. I have a friend who's a priest, Father Dominic Jacob, and I promised him I'd name a bird after him this year. The funny part is Padre Jake's harem. After I pick out three girls and an alternate for him, I'm going to name them "Poverty", "Chastity", "Obedience", and "Anathema".
