***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Artsyrobin, I only got one and she looks nearly identical to your picture. She does have 5 toes as well. I will try to get some pictures of her tomorrow.
these are bantam faverolles, they also come in large fowl, and are extremely docile, post some pics if you can, do yours have extra toes? - here is a good thread on them

On another note, I went out last night after all of the birds had gone to roost to make sure everyone was doing okay and getting along. Not real sure why they are doing this but three were wedged into the door opening and one was on the ground outside...I assume because the other three had her blocked from getting inside. The silver lace wyandotte (Oreo) was perched on the back of two of the other birds. I put them all inside but all I could do was shake my head at them.

nana- take it easy! OUCH!

looked out the window and can see the cochins and the banty run, well little jr cochin/silkie cockerel decided to take on Mr Peabody the LF cochin cockerel- the most mild mannered guy- and he was dragging jr around the run by his comb, sheesh! nothing is ever dull around here!

and we got our first faverolle egg, and i scrubbed the big coop, send me some of that cabbage nana! Yummy!
what color the LF Cochin?

Nana hope you have a speedy recovery! I will check & see what all was tested for in my last 2 lab work ups.
Saw a mouse last night so bought some mouse traps. Kids spent about 30 min playing with the new "toys". Both girls got their fingers smashed multiple times & Alexis even managed to get her entire hand stuck in the trap!

I know my mandrians are suppose to lay eggs in trees but didn't know many domestic ducks would. DH has mentioned selling the mandrians (just to have one less pen to care for). Probally going to part with 4 or 5 silver appleyard drakes. We may butcher them, but I have at least $30 each in them & they are show quality from holderead. Almost feel guilty if we ate them!

We are having bbq chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes.
That sounds good too!

Quote: Hubby said he and his brother used to build boxes for the wood ducks to nest in. the nailed them to trees btween 5 and 10 feet from the ground.

Hope you get an end in sight soon.

My youngest daughter always liked to play with the clean new traps, but then wouldn't help me take care of them when there was a trapped mouse...
