***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Kass I swear you have the cutest babies ever! The only babies here are 3 guinea keets that are 2 weeks old (not cute in the least) and 2 banty cochin chicks (1 buff brahma and 1 partridge) and they are both little bullies probably both roos, lol.

Nana that is one wicked looking creature! I will warn the kids to leave them be if they come across one.

Got lots of sewing done today. Made 3 dozen cloth wipes for my great niece, next on my list is cloth napkins for here at home. I am tired of spending money on napkins we just throw in the trash.

Robin so sorry about your Ruth.

Today was the chickie doos first outdoor outing and first live food, they loved it. They have had access to grit since coming out of the incubator, I have always given them (all my chicks) a dirt floor in thier brooder box.

Dubias (I picked out the tiny ones for them)

Mealworms, don't let that innocent looking face fool you Ara has had MUCH more then her fair share.
Too stinkin' cute!!

NanaKat: Way too scary!
Here's what I found on my porch about 2 weeks ago. My boyfriend had a very important job of killing it and it's partner and then getting rid of those egg sacks.

Just sharing some silly photos from the last few days:

And I believe that this was the exact moment the chick, Nugget, realized that Scooter is a duck:

Hubby just came in and told me I ought to go tie some weights to the banty roosters...the winds have really picked up.

Cute baby pictures and we have seen loads of black widows this year too.
A friend got bitten on his chest by a black widow while he was bundling feed sacks in the barn. He was treated for severe neurologic issues for several weeks....couldn't go to work. His hands shook so much he couldn't use his pistol..he is an officer.

Good Monday mornin everyone! I hope everyone weekend went well!

I got my new chicks in on Friday, and sadly, one liked to peck at the other babies eyes... So I had to get rid of it, and now I think I may have two chicks that may have some vision problems. Are some chicks just born this way? or what makes them do this? Ive never had one before.

would roo on the left be a blue or possibly blue laced.  I hatched it last May but I gave it to friend and now I wish I would have kept him.

okRacefan, that's considered just "Blue". The Blues are supposed to be dark Mike that and have that pretty lacing. The "self blue" (lavender) are Blue without the lacing.
Edit: I may be wrong after reading Nana's post and see it was out of a Black & Silver Laced. On my way to go read up on color genetics.
