***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Drove myself to the dr today. First time driving in 6wks. The pic is with my phone but here is the awful flock of turkeys that are always playing in my road. I usually see a handful at a time. Today was the first time I ever saw this many. Also had 3 does in my front pasture today.

I have a crossbow and a hunting license with a deer tag that will take care of that Doe problem for you!

Just the one. Little Kassie Blue. She got eyeliner and everything. It's easier for me to post photos on face book so I'll try to get some later. Mama May has had that baby out every single day showing it around and taking on all comers. Even August, the rooster. does nothing more now than peer interestedly at the two of them. When I look out of my window at the pen i see Mama May and this impossibly tiny dark dot moving around her. It's incredibly cute.
This may be the chicks mom, she is the only one I have w/ blue

Pretty hen, Kass.

Christina, great experience with wild turkeys. We have a flock of about 20 that are fun to watch on the land in Prague. Have never seen that large of a flock. WOW.

So far, we have 3 half Cochin chicks and one full Cochin chick under broodies. The cracked egg experiment was a disappointment. I used a sterilized 1/2 egg shell and attached it over the broken end of the exposed end to keep the moisture in the egg, but the chick didn't make it. 7 eggs left in the hatcher that should begin hatching in two days.

Hubby just left for the city for another sleep study tonight. He will call me when he arrives....always worry about him on the road at night and even more so in the rain. He just laughs at me...he's a retired police officer and thinks I worry too much. Fed him well before he left...pork roast, potatoes, carrots, gravy and yeast rolls. Now I will work on the farm and cattle accounts for our taxes.

Nana how often are they doing sleep studies? Are they just checking to see if the surgery is still providing all the beniftis? The girls both snapped turkey pics with their phones. I can count over 70 turkeys. I think it is pretty amazing. I was searching for info on the size of flocks & from what I read 50 seems to be the cut off. I have always seen some turkeys in this spot, but was amazing to see so many.

OKracefan, would love for someone to be able to score one a doe, the dogs chased them off this AM.  We don't have a good spot for hunting on our place, the front is pretty open & cattle running on both sides. DH & DD hunt on the neighbors 300 acres.

well they just need to take me with them.

Christina, he had an overnight oxymetry test last week that indicated his oxygen levels were dropping below 80% for long periods at night and no evidence of rem sleep. This sleep study will let us know more details, but his sleep apnea is back where it was before all the surgeries. Most likely will go back on his cpap at night. He had a sleep study just before they pulled out his trach tube last year that was really good. He was really doing well..at least so we thought.

Hate to hear Roger is having issues again. I have a love hate relationship with DH CPAP machine. While I was in the hospital when my oxygen levels would drop in the low 80s it felt awful & could barely sit up fo more than a few moments. Then everytime they would put me back on oxygen since I didn't already have enough things connected & hooked up to me. I can only imagine how exhausted Roger is with oxygen levels going that low. Hope the sleep test helps guide the doctors in his treatment.
