***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hey does anyone use electrified poultry fencing? I'm thinking about it to expand their free range area and keep the dogs away. I read the adds and get kind of confused about what i really need to get. Fence and the thing that charges it. i plan to use extension cord for the charging part. Does anyone have advice for me? Thanks!
Cathie Sue
Sorry no experience w/ electric netting. But did any more hatch or just the one? Any new updated pics of our grandchick?

Oh I love the silkies!!! We need to find a few more silkie pullets for my son. He bought 4 at poops that are just so sweet! He loves them but only one of the 4 is a girl, lol. So the other two boys need their own mates. But even with all 4 in the same pen they all get along so well and are so sweet. I can't wait till the girl starts laying again. We hatched one of her eggs this fall before she went into molt but she hasn't started laying again since then. But when she does we will be hatching more of her beautiful babies. I never thought I would like silkies but they have such a personality that no one can not just love!

yea, i like polish allot but din't think i would like the silkies much but my daughter wanted them and they are suppose to be good broodes so i though ok i will get her a couple and at least they could incubate some eggs lol but they are so sweet.

Cathie Sue,

The signature line: My Husband said, "Put all the critters in the signature line, so they know how much stuff I have to build for them." HA!

Thank you all for the welcome!!

Did you get your silkies locally? (sorry of I missed it in an earlier post) I'd love some for broodies.

No no it don't have a runny nose or sneezing or anything, last night when i got home it was holding it's head down up against it chest and it walks around like that it was eating and drinking so I'm not sure what's wrong it may have something in it's eye cause it almost acts like its in pain now.

I had a chick doing the same thing. I know everyone has different treatments but I cleaned her eye out with saline wash and applied neosporin for a few days. Cleared it up? Got something out? I have no idea, but it worked.

Drove myself to the dr today. First time driving in 6wks. The pic is with my phone but here is the awful flock of turkeys that are always playing in my road. I usually see a handful at a time. Today was the first time I ever saw this many. Also had 3 does in my front pasture today.
