***OKIES in the BYC III ***

So I got my first batch about a week ago. Get up this morning and the runt of the litter is dead. Kind of sad. She was always chirping and trying to crawl under the other chicks. Just a little sad that I lost one so soon.

On the runt chick I would guess she was always cold. That doesn't mean she would have survived with more heat, but just a thought. Sorry u lost her.

No rain yet, but it sure looks gloomy.

Mike is having issues logging on so if you need to contact him prob best to text him.

Salutations Dear Okies

How are you all doing this fine Tuesday evening? Our 2013 Egg count has begun, we are now 3 eggs and counting for the new year.. Not really sure why a few of the girls wanna lay in these temps but who is to complain when they feed me my breakfast.

Things are going decent, been fighting the nasty cold for the past 9 days other than that all is well

Congrats Michael for Macy's Bobcat kill.. wow you sure must be proud

JCATBLUM: Bailiff the never ending wanderer.. Yes GP are known to be very gentle to their "packs" which would be you and the family.

Hello To all the new folks. It's nice to see some new flocksters.

Kenny, does your chick also have a runny nose? If so, it could be some respiratory stuff starting. If no other symptoms are visible, then it could have something in the eye under one of the lids.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to BYC but have had chickens for quite a few years. I just wanted to say Hello and get to know my fellow Oakies!

On a side note: kennym99- did you figure out what is going on with your chick?

Have a wonderful day!

Tara

Hey does anyone use electrified poultry fencing? I'm thinking about it to expand their free range area and keep the dogs away. I read the adds and get kind of confused about what i really need to get. Fence and the thing that charges it. i plan to use extension cord for the charging part. Does anyone have advice for me? Thanks!

Premier fencing has poultry netting. I'm sure there are many others, but it seems to me that we got a catalogue from Premier not too long ago. I'll see if I can find it after work today.

no it don't have a runny nose or sneezing or anything, last night when i got home it was holding it's head down up against it chest and it walks around like that it was eating and drinking so I'm not sure what's wrong it may have something in it's eye cause it almost acts like its in pain now.
