***OKIES in the BYC III ***

we were late getting there cause hubbys flight was delayed...we were standing near the door, (hubby was wearing a dirty red nomac jacket) then finally got a seat on the bleachers, surrounded by all the kids! I don't remember seeing your pullover...musta been too busy trying to see the dang chickens they were auctioning... if the kids weren't in the way, the people showing the birds/watching for bidders were

The only reason I bid on the blue sumatra is cause hubby was walking around looking at the birds and texted me the lot number....not cause I could see it

Sorry that was probably me with my four in tow.... and a big stroller off to the side. Hubby was supposed to meet me at the auction but after 2 hours I had had ENOUGH of keeping the four of them in line and we left early. But we came home with only empty cages- how's that for CONTROLLING myself?!

Finally got the 200 feet of 2 feet wide beds finished (or 100 feet of 4 feet wide) Even got 2 of the 10x10 beds finished, 2 more to go. Those are the areas between the 10 ft "spurs" of raspberries, strawberries and garlic.

I was going to allow the big fence run I just completed to be fallow until fall when I plant one side in forsythia, but instead I am planning on getting some raw peanuts from the store and planting those. I figured they are legumes so they should fix nitrogen, take up space so hopefully less grass trying to take back over, and good fodder for meat buns if I get them this year. Also inexpensive to plant and can take the sun.

Kass,

Does forsythia grow well for you? I have a few around my house for years and they are not much bigger then when I planted them. Maybe I need to raid the barn for some well aged horse manure to give them a boost.
