***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I use a Dremel Tool with a cutoff wheel, it`s fast and it cauterizes as it cuts....Fast means little or no stress to the bird. Spurs are trimmed and the bird is back on the ground in a matter of minutes.

Yah that work's the best ...I have a bench grider i use,,,An a drimel it seal's the spur an dont bleed much at all ..Some time's i use a hack saw but it bleed's alot some time's i put a bar of soap on it to stop the bleeding...

twist it off? by hand?

lol no not by hand there are several diferant ways it can be done

one way you can put a potato in the microwave and get it hot then slide it over the spure the heet will cuase the big old spurto be easly pulled off leaving a small new spure " it will bleed i littel "

also a drimel like others have said woorks great and is quick to

a hack sawl wille work but it is slow and depending on how close you cut it it may bleed a lot

Yes these prices are even high for spring time. I laugh when people call about my pullets and offer me $6.25 for a POL bird that I am asking $18 for. That is typical price for a nice bird that will lay for a good long time. I tell them to go try the auction and see how they like my price after they see the prices this year! LOL

I can't wait until we can get back to attending the auctions and seeing everyone!
My Mottled cockerel sold for $24.50 a couple of weeks ago! They usually bring 3.00 or 4.00. This is a good year for sellers esp. of Ameraucanas. Chicks were as high as $5.00 for blues!

Yes, it will be good to see you.
It was great to see Christina!
