***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I don't know why you couldn't freeze for later processing, but it will be more difficult to pluck, and I suggest you at least eviscerate the bird before freezing just to be safer.

I wouldn't chance it. The bacteria on the feathers and feet could be a problem even if you sealed the uncleaned carcas in a bag. Do the deed, hang to drain, scald and clean the body properly and then refridgerate it. It's a whole lot facter to skin the bird when your eviserate (gut) it.

That would be us. I use a 10% bleach solution to both sanitize the eggs before setting, use water around the 100 deg F range, dip the eggs and then let air dry and don't rinse.

We use 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. We found out about this the first time we went through NPIP classes way back when.

Well, I'm home 14 hrs or so early. I dropped an appox 25 lb cardiac monitor on my knees twice!!!! Now I have 4 knees and two are black. Don't think I did any permenant or bone damage, just very deep bruises and swelling.

Ouch Kass! Why would anyone do that more than once?!

LOL I can say it wasn't the most brilliant thing I've ever done!!!!! In a hurry paying more attention to a critical pt then where I was placing the monitor.

Paint yer tires white, chances are you were trying to grow baked potatos. Putting a temp probe in one would be interesting.

Does anyone put a little bleach in the drinking water to help keep the algae down or am I imagining I heard that.
