To help the raw places heal (just in case it is a yeast infection) apply apple cider vinegar to the raw areas using a cotton ball. The vinegar will act as an astringent to help neutralize the ph. You may have to treat the ares several days.
has she been wormed recently? I ask because one of my cochins had an area soft and squishy and when i wormed her, the area that looked swollen went down- just a thought
Quote: which wormer did you use? some wormers don't get all worms-
how does she look today?
i sure like your setup for the birds!! would love to have something similar!Good morning friends and neighbors!![]()
Yesterday I moved the Tuzo into their new pen.....
I added some wire mesh to the front of the pens, that ought to keep the peeps in and the snakes out.....
The Peeps will be a week old tomorrow and they coming along nicely, so far all 14 are doing fine.
I picked up a `100 role of fence yesterday and I`m about ready to fence in a little area in front of the barn, that will give me some room to put some drop pens in where the dogs can`t get to my birds....
I hope y`all have a great day!

Elbert, such neat and tidy pics as always, looks like the chickie doos are growing like weeds.
Here is an article a friend and I wrote together for a breed club to publish. I like to rotate wormers last time I used Ivermectin paste, its in the horse section. spread some on a bit of bread and feed to each bird worked great and easier. This will treat for mites and lice as well as worms. You can also use hog or goat wormer pellets with fenbedazole or valbazen if you have worm problems.I wormed them in March, but I can worm them again if that's the cause, don't want my others getting like this. Thanks!![]()
