We are moving down near your neck of the woods this week, we'll be in Coweta!

If you'll caponize them them I'll gladly pay you whatever you'd normally get for capons. Or more if you want, just name it. I'd love to have a part of Oreo, he was like the List Mascot to me, he's been here longer than me.

And welcome Braveveline!

I had trouble with Isbars from February until August with the exact same type of problem, I would lose all the chicks one at a time from 3-4 weeks. If I was really careful and dosed them with Tetroxy HCA I might manage to save one out of 10-15. Did OSU testing and found out the hens were passing e. coli bacteria to the chicks through the eggs. Poor things didn't stand a chance. Had to get an RX from a vet to cure the adults, Bactrim. Just as I finished up the Bactrim regimen a neighborhood dog got into my yard, ripped their run door open, and killed my rooster. Of course.

Vet said in his opinion it was from whomever I got my hens from and had been passed to them via the egg. I just got lucky I was able to raise them to maturity (they were hatching eggs). Won't buy from that breeder ever again.
I had that problem too with some eggs - although they were only a few days old when symptoms started. One chick survived - it was affected and I started with baytril on it. I sent a sample to OSU, but the infection had occurred earlier, caused the damage, and was gone by the time I sent the sample in - so they were unable to positively identify the problem. Is Tetroxy HCA prescription?

It was my dog Sasha. We left them at the house for 24 hours Gary was camping and I was working. She breeched the fence somehow, I walked the whole thing and can't see where or how she did it. She had never shown any interest at all in either the chickens or breeching the fence before now. I took Tucker to my FIL so I know he had nothing to do w/ it. She even brought the dead ones in the house, (we have a dog door) walked in the house to dead chickens everywhere! The only survivors were Jackie O, and the 3 broody moms w/ their 8 chicks. (mostly boys) and to make it worse, Gary took all the eggs to the camping trip!!!!!! I have a handful mostly of pullet eggs I am going to put in the bator today to see if I can salvage some of the genetics I was working towards. Just very sad.
Oh no, how devastating :( I am so very sorry - you had such wonderful birds. Feathers crossed for those eggs!

Bardies, when's hatch day for the Spitz?? Were any of the Ara eggs growing?
It doesn't look like ANY of the light Brahmas were fertile here.

SOONER CLASSIC--Traditional Table Top Serama Show was held at Keystone Lake, Saturday Oct. 26...It was a REALLY great show. We had exhibitors from several states and as far as Alabama and New York. Some really nice birds. Weather was good and we had the best hot dogs ever for lunch! Here are a few photos. ...and yes, that's Bob Warren.

My silkied roo 'Redman' placed Best of the Best.

My birds also got Reserve to Best of the Best, Reserve Malay female and Reserve Malay male.
