Oh and the pic shows burlap which is still my favorite, but I have discovered making sacs from old worn out sheets works too, which leads me to believe for any non-sewers out there that goodwill pillowcases would work too.

Wheat and oat, those are my staples, sometimes I add corn and would love to add barley, but don't have access to it. Boss always molds my sprouts so I never sprout it anymore.

Where do you buy wheat and oats? In 50# bags?

each are about $10 give or take. I have 12 birds now and use about 1.5 cups dry per day.

If anyone is interested in a 6 week old lavender Orpington cockerel, he is free. I'm in south Broken Arrow and can't travel far.

Someone on BYC is using a LO roo over marans hens and getting nice table birds. He could be a good addition for anyone looking to get the most out of DP crosses.

I have 2 LO pullets. They don't have the best feather quality but they are nosy bodies.

I think my birds should get sprouts too - Why do am I more careful about what my birds, and other pets, eat than what I eat? For Thanksgiving my birds are getting some fresh pumpkin.
