***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Sorry did not see any Minorcas or Spanish.. Those are rare commodities at the auctions around here.. Prices were crazy high tonight.. Wish I had taken those cochins I need to sell...

My luck if I do end up taking them to the auction they will go for nothing....

You didn't mention that you had cochins for sale at the auction. Just the one roo lol
How old are they? Colors? hmmmmmmmm.......could be dangerous.
Yes the prices were high. Still kind of wishing I would have bought the salmon faverolles.

For those that commented about my juvies....I did bring them back inside last night. I'll keep close eye on weather for more days for them to go outside.

That's horrible!

My parents' reason is because of the religion we belong to, which I will discuss no further on a public forum, but I personally have no need nor to desire to have a boyfriend in any way.

The only downside to that is being the local weird girl. But with an obsession with coffee, numerous chickens, and living like people from old days, I'm already considered "weird" by most people aside from my elders. And I don't really care.

Cooking spaghetti squash and cabbage for the birds this morning. Wasn't expecting to see snow outside when I woke up.
Mine got reheated lentil soup. They ate the onions and green peppers first, and then they ate the lentils. I put down a layer of straw in the yard where I fed them. Too many were doing the "cold feet" dance. They're holding up better than I am in this cold weather.

Boy! It was bitterly cold outside this morning. The water in the tubs only had a thin layer of ice under the snow. But the wind cut thru my jacket like a knife. The birds came out for a drink and immediately went back in their coops. An hour later they were ready to come out for their grain mix...just long enough to clean it up. Eggs in the hen house this morning were so cold I won't hatch any unless I pull the eggs from beneath the breeder hens.

Hope everyone is staying toasty with this weather.

I'm going to microwave a couple of potatoes and mash w/ warm milk and boss for a nice warm treat, but probably not give it until a little later in the afternoon so they will have warm full crops before bed.

I made a huge pot of stew last week. I only ate two bowls of it, so the chickens are getting warm stew today!

They are bantams. There are are two black pullets, two blue pullets and 5 black cockerals.. They are sweet but I am totally not interested in bantams.

I have some bananas that were discounted at the store, so I am thinking I may get some crumbles and mix banana in it with warm water... They should like that fine...
