***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Great photos Dusti!,,
And to think you stood at POOPS in Newcastle holding a Black pullet for me and now you have all those lovely varieties. Of course, I'm partial to the Wyandottes. but those are pretty neat beards and NN.

Everybody let me introduce to my enabler!
I was just thinking she should be about a year old now. She's not much for being held anymore but she is sometimes the first one running toward me when I go outside. That columbian pullet with the wry tail is relatively friendly and always underfoot. The blue columbian just started laying. I caught her in nest box today and had an egg in her spot when I checked a bit later.

Did you like the blue birchen roo pics? I'm going to call him Blue. The single comb columbian is a bit of a punk in his flock interactions. He's still going to freezer. So far I'm pleased with Blue's flock demeanor.

So far I have not had any problems between the marans roosters and the wyandottes. The guinea chases the single comb dotte roo though.

How about those LF white dotte pullets?? I can't wait till they get big.

Dusti, you have beautiful birds... lots and lots and LOTS of beautiful birds!

It's why I call your place the home of the fowl horde. If you ever become a breeder, that needs to be your name... Fowl Horde Farms.

Thank you thank you.....I want a sign that says The Cluckin' Corgi Ranch for my coop. LOL

Silkie babies:l
l
Was gone all this weekend, so am just catching up. I carried three chicks with me to the banquet and various functions, they are a week old - 2 nn's and a silkie. I was talking about them and realized that a baby silkie is the only animal I know of that gets cuter as it grows up. As a tiny chick, you have standard cuteness, but as they grow...it just keeps getting better!. The Naked necks, though, thati s a totally different story. I think one of them will be frizzled though - which is good, we lost the last one we made to a predator and missed it terribly.

Thank you all for the guidance. I'm running to Atwoods as soon as my feet hit the floor even if I am in my PJ's and crazy hair while dragging my kids behind me! That should be a sight and give them something to talk about for the rest of the day! I just hope these babies take to treatment quickly and I'm not too late...:fl

EDIT: @Kyzmette What Probiotic do I get? These guys are separate from my outside flock so treatment should be kept more simple since it's only one of those small waterers.

Wow, talk about great minds... I have three Ameraucana mix bearded chicks I just named Fili, Kili and Bombur. Bombur is so round and fluffy and CUTE!

They have a little packet of probiotic powder in something like three single dose packets that might work for you. I honestly don't remember the names of them, sorry. If it's too overwhelming and confusing you could pick up plain yogurt, but I heard it's best to not overdo on protein when treating this type of bacteria. I really don't see it making much of a difference if you're following the correct medication instructions, since you'd be giving them the yogurt/probiotic AFTER the antibiotic.

Dusti,

Here's your bathing beauty : ) She made a lot of noise as I was filling her bath today. I think she was telling me to hurry.

Here's my star layer, a coronation sussex. She got to free-range with the first group today.

Awe...she's so cute!!!! The other black bib I got is always chasing/following Kelly's Pekin duck, not sure if she's trying to bond or run him off. Love the sussex.
