That's ok, I figured if I find any then I will buy them on a whim. I figured we had enough chicks for my FIL as it is but thank you for mentioning it anyway!Sorry when you didn't say something right away I left them listed on Craigslist, sold two pullets yesterday and have someone coming this afternoon to look at the last 4 pullets. If they don't take them I will save them for you.
If you can keep the humidity during incubation between 20 and 30% I find that is ideal. Cayuse is right, you don't want it in the low teens. At lockdown just fill the water tray, then don't open the incubator until they are all done hatching.
Pretty birdies!
Pretty!!! He looks like the roo the girls came with, but then we put him back in the auction because I only wanted the girls. If there is ever an issue or if I just need to have more room then you will be the first to know about it! They are pretty girls! I look forward to seeing what their personalities are like!

I need to find out more about these auctions. I'm looking for the mates to my different breeds of chickens lol
Oh Kas, they are all so gorgeous! I still want to buy a rooster when u re ready to sell. I love the red head , but hubby likes the darker skinned ones better. Are they the ones that have the FM gene?(U realize I have no idea what I'm talking about.) Why do yours look different than so many I've seen? Not that I have seen a lot of them. I would love to have one with a polish cross too. Showgirls are crossses w/ silkies, right? Actually I think it would be awesome to ty different crosses. Don't faint NanaKat, but I'd love a cross w/ one of my cw crosses.
Do u ever take any time for yourself? Where's the pics of Norman? It's Murphy's Law, that they come when you're not ready. I was thinking like Shelbydog, there has to be something that u could trap the darn thing. I need to take pics of the kids. Even though they have moved outside they are still spoiled. They come when called and I'll sit down on the ground and they are all over me knowing they are going to get treats. I might just have to keep all three roosters. How do u choose? I think I'm going to end up with too many roosters. It's been nice w/ just the two, and they seem to be fertilizing all the hens. Dwight Yoakum(was named when I bought him) is going to miss hiss Americaunas, ee'rs, but as sonn as we get a few dry days I'm gong to put them in w/ Floyd. He'll be so happy. The pen is finished except getting the rest of the top on. But my chicken #'s are growing. 34 in the brooder in the house, 14 about the same age the c/w's are and 8 new borns w/ mama. I have a beautiful purebred buff orp that I will donate to POOPS that is as tame and spoiled as the other kids. I don't know what else yet. I am afraid to offer chickens in case something happens, but I'm sure I'll have welsumer roosters, and partridge rock roosters since I bought them straight run. It's really late so I'd better try to go to bed. I wanted to have a lot of energy today so I drank coffeee all day and now I'm still wide awakeKass, the NNs are striking...looks like the naked gene is more than just the neck!
Even with the drizzle and intermittent showers we worked cows today...moving heifers to a back pasture and the pairs forward so we could separate out two cows ready to calve their first calves. These girls are now in the lot by the barn with an outside light so we can watch them thru the window.
Can't say there is much in the rain gauge, but we sure need the moisture.
I let the juveniles out for a little exercise...The hawk swooped in like a rocket and nailed a black pullet as we were coming back to the house. I locked the juveniles up again. Roger sat In the barn with the rifle waiting for it to return to the kill. After 30 minutes, he did some tractor work. Then after he put the tractor in the barn...the smart hawk returned and tried to lift the pullet but she was too heavy for it....of course...the gun was back in the house.
Eggs are due to begin hatch tonight into tomorrow.....18 in the hatcher.
There's another NN pipping. I hope it's a female jubilee NN![]()
One of the mottled NN babies hatched. He's alone in the hatcher making a lot of noise. He's gigantic, so I'm going to assume it's a HE. He may turn out to be a jubilee NN. I'll have to wait until he gets feathers. Sure is a cute little guy. I hope he has a bunch of buddies soon.
