***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I have a friend that is interested in getting some peacocks. I have heard that if you buy adults, they tend not to stay. What advice would you give for my friend? I know that last week at the Newcastle auction there were some younger birds.... would something like that have worked?

This lil Bantam hatched her first clutch of 5 on April 01, 2014. Nine days later she brought them out of the Hutch. For safety, that night I caught them, and her, and put locked them in the Hutch. Next night I was all set to do the routine again, but to my amazement this is what took place. Who says chickens are dumb.

Hello,
We are new to this chicken deal. We have a chicken coop on order and will be 4'x10'. It will also have a 16' run off it. I'm very excited to see if anyone has any suggestions on breeds, as well as any thoughts on the whole thing. I have done some research the last few years before I started this adventure, but any help from experienced folks would be great!!! I'm in the Yukon area. We are also preparing a produce stand for selling the garden vegetables as well as my extra eggs.

Thanks,
Rexx & Carly

Ok here is a pic of my small chick. It is 4 weeks old and a kind of silvery blue.

I'm on the HUNT for some Langshan hens. I'm waiting to get them til after mid-May but I really like them very much.

Hello! My name is Laura and I live in Choctaw, OK and am new to the chicken world. My Girlfriend and I just purchased our first 4 chicks from the Lumber 4 in Spencer in Friday. We are raising them to become egg producers. We have 2 Americanas and 2 Barred Rock. So far this is our little set up.

You are SO going to love chickens! You have no idea yet how attached you're going to become to those little chicks :)

Now if anyone wants my Partridge Bantam Cochin pair please speak up. They're healthy and have only been with each other since last Sept when I got them. She lays her egg every day and is the cutest tiny thing.

ETA: Lorie, I have no idea what breed those chicks are but I know they're already way too big to be Serama.
I have 3 Serama boys that would love some indoor homes if anyone is interested. They really can't take temps under 60 and even that's pushing it. Seramas are cuddly and sweet like real pets and the size of a pigeon only squatier.
