As i mentioned to Kass, my laptop is waiting on parts so am using an old xp and driving me nuts! How long will a muscovy stay fertile? These hens i bought are laying and wondered if its possible they may hatch??

In layman's terms he has a rare but naturally occurring double recessive gene. He will always be naked. He also does not even have scales on his legs, and if he is a boy will never grow spurs.

I've got 5 brooding hens right now. Toulouse goose has been sitting on 7 eggs for a couple of weeks now. Muscovy duck has been on her nest for over 2 weeks.

Picked up 7 rouen ducklings from Rinda last night. And picked up my 4 welsh harlequin ducklings, thank you so much Kelly for manning the incubator. The spinning top duckling has settled down. I gave him as much niacin as I could so we'll see if he's still hanging on when I get home from work.

Ok I need cochin advice. I am trying to go through chicks to decide who to keep. My son fell in love with a blue cochin chick that is obviously a roo so I am trying to think what girls i should keep to go with him. I have a white a buff and maybe 2 blacks but at least 1 black girl. Who would you keep? How do white chickens do in the red dirt? Do they do ok free ranging? What colors could I get from these girls and my blue boy? If I decide not to keep a girl is it better to sell as a pair with a roo?
