***OKIES in the BYC III ***

That's like taking a kid to toys r us andn telling them to pick what they want.LOL I really don't except I'm not crazy about barred rock, but I do have dominques and I think some in the babies Glenn got at Orschlens. As far as the top knott, it doesn't matter. I have different types in the bator w/ top knotts so it isn't a must have. I'm planning on giving him a mixed harem of breeds, so u do what is best. I think all u told me was that the Fm gene(can't remember what it is) was something I would want to breed to the silkies for showgirls. Sometrhing that will go w/everything , since u know what you're doing and I don't. I love them all. Love the new pics of Rudy u posted today. Gary is right. Rudy is a girl. Too sweet to be a rooster. Since I've neverm seen NN before as babies, I wouldn't be able to tell/ I can tell on most of my breeds by three weeks, though some are a bit tougher. Thanks and now that u know what I want to do, u choose. I alrady know it will be sweet and tame.

Fm is fibromyletic, it is what makes the skin (flesh and bones) have the dark color like in silkies.

Still not 100% sure what I have, but will definitely keep in mind when I start making descisions about who is getting caponized.

I ended up with three Jubilee Orpingtons (a rarebreedauction purchase), two male Cream Legbars, two Barnevelders, and one blue Isbar (all from Rinda).

Then, I adopted four bantams from a friend who wanted them for an Easter party. Yes, she did the responsible thing and asked me FIRST. Any guesses of what breed they might be?

@Poco Pollo how did the two hatches go?
The first hatch (dark egg NN) was okay. I have five chicks from that dozen. The second hatch (mottled/jubilee NN) was terrible. Only one hatched. The rest were quitters, probably around day 15, judging by the size and development of the eggs I opened on day 24.

Sorry about that

After the second NN hatch, I cleaned out the incubator and ordered some Partridge Penedesenca eggs from New York. On day 10, I candled and removed 4 of the 12 eggs. Four clears and 8 wigglers: I can live with those numbers. The eggs are really dark. I hope the 8 hatch without difficulty. The egg and flock pictures below were found on a google search. The eggs I set are about as dark as the front, middle egg in the photo.

I didn't realize there were other chickens that laid that dark of eggs that weren't marans
