***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Robin, if you're out there lurking, I want to let you know that all your birds are fine. I put Sonny and his girls in a hoop house, and the girls took to the nest box right away. Sonny has claimed his spot on the roost. The rest are in 10 X 10 dog kennels with a coop and nest box in each. The capons like sleeping in the nest box, so I may replace the contents with sand and DE for dust bathing.

Dusti - Happy Birthday! Hope your new ducklings are doing well. The porch brooder is really quiet without them. Let me know when you want to meet up to get your new hens (and others). I'll be at the Coweta sale Friday night. I'm free (but babysitting this weekend), so I could drive half way.

Welcome! I'm out in Skiatook, but I work in Tulsa. Great to have another Tulsan here! Be afraid... we're all chicken junkies who encourage addictive chicken behavior. You stumbled into a nest of chronic enablers!

The teens are in the big girl area today out of the covered chick run. So far so good, not major incident or blood letting. They have seen each other through the fence and lived in the same coop separated by a fence for over a month now so hopefully that will ease the transition. The babies are chomping at the bit to leave the NYC apt for the wide open ranch house! lol

Quote: Aw, thanks. Yeah, decisions do have consequences. I have learned that the hard way many times before. Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and I am, against my better judgment, already planning to take a biking trip in the same park on a new path that has more curves to it... Gawsh, someone cure me of Idiotidis Stupidus... >.<

A few pics from the Papillion in Muskogee yesterday. The butterflies are out, but it was a bit chilly so they weren't very active I didn't get many shots, but no worries I'll be back.

Some of the chrysalis looked like jewelry, especially this one, it looked like it was wrapped in gold wire.

LOVING the pics! Especially that last one, my goodness!

What camera do you use?

I don't think anyone answered - BLRW are Blue laced red wyandottes.

They come in three varieties - the blue, black and splash - here are a few of mine, plus some others.... The coloring is pretty and they have (or should have) huge wide Wyandotte butts

This one reminds me of a roadrunner with her colors, spiky tail and head piece.
