Weed three looks kind of like a variant of common ragweed.

I have id'ed a few

Weed 4, curly dock

Tree 2 elderberry, edible flowers and fruit everything else (leaves, bark, root) all poison


Evil thorny vine, yes greenbriar (or more possibly a form of greenbriar called catbriar) Completely edible by rabbits and humans all portions, root, shoots, leaves, berries.



Does amaranth have milky sap (or pigweed)? Could that be the first plant?



I wondered if that was a boxwood.


Anyone know what those small trees that grow like crazy and spread at an insane rate that have a very sweet pungent white flower in early spring?

That sure does look like the ragweed picture. I always thought ragweed was that bright yellow flower you see enmass in pastures.

I just looked it up and the flower I have thought all this time is ragweed is really golden rod!

Isn't amaranth purple? Also I don't remember seeing any chickweed in those pictures. But I did see an elderberry, but I didn't realize they were native to the area. We have lots in our yard, mainly because my husband wants EVERYTHING edible. They grow crazy fast!

Amaranth comes in many many colors there are about 70 varieties.

I didn't plant the elderberry, highly suspicious that a neighbor has them somewhere in the neighborhood and a bird planted it.

Lost Timmy overnite, from what i read, secondary infections are what are the issue with chigger infestations- such a sweet boy. Lost one of the keets and another isn't looking good, giving them crumble broth about every half hour- looks like a hard week dang it

I'm sorry, Robin. Good lord, I had no idea something like chiggers could cause such a problem. Just when you think you can breathe a sigh of relief you find out something else.

Reading the scramble to get the pullets makes me think of chickens running all around trying to get a tasty treat, and keep it away from other chickens

Chick Keep-A-Way is right up there with the drama of "learning to drink water" when it comes to the Funny Scale with chickens lol

Okay, okies...question about management.
15 week old cockerel already mating and fertilizing pullets (17 weeks old). Would it be okay to send him somewhere that there are no laying pullets/hens, or do you think if he had a 15 week old pullet with him that he wouldn't harass/bother the younger ones who are 8 weeks now? It will be after quarantine, not sure how many weeks the person is planning.

I think he'd do better to go with the pullet his age.

I am trying to ID some weeds, bushes, vines, and trees to see what I have for the new rabbits for wild forage. Anyone know what these are.




Weed one, you can see the sap is milky, this stuff is everywhere.

Possibly amaranth, can anyone confirm milky sap in amaranth

Weed 3, this one gets huge, clear sap

Weed 4, is this plantain that has gone to seed?

tree 1 This one is a tree, they pop up everywhere

Tree 2, or maybe big bush hard to tell, is it elderberry? It kinda reminds me of my Gma's elderberry, when it was blooming very fragrent

Evil vine 1, hate this crap, big hateful thorns grows like crazy, leaves are a bit thicker then normal.
