I do still have him, but he was wanting to placed in protective custody so he could survive to make it to a sale somewhere and I obliged him with his own quarters to stay in till then, I do need to replace him I was thinking about trying to make the Blanchard sale just not sure if I want to take any birds there in this heat.

I understand that! I was thinking the same thing, with the heat like it is. If you're interested in mine I'll go take a photo of him. He's about 3 - 4 months old, crows and will eat out my hand. He has a nice comb and wattles, and is pretty, but not show quality. Now I have to keep him in the garage because of his crowing, since I live where roosters aren't allowed.

1st heat casuality today. A welsummers pullet. Been giving them loads of ice, fresh water & spraying them down. They all have plenty of shade but this heat is just brutal!

Did you see the bird on the new's that was joined together at the wing's ....
Watch Trav.Chan.Bizar.food's they wer eating chicken's feet an duck feet ..

I think the welsummers are not cut out for this heat. All my other pullets are running & chasing grasshoppers. 20 something wellsummers are all laying in the water buckets or holes they dug in the sand. They are without a doubt struggling more than the others. I turned the sprinkler on by them today. They didn't like it but pretty sure I will be hooking the mister up for them tomorrow.

I lost a welsummer today too.and a Quail.. this heat is a killer.... doing the ice containers now.no let up in sight... did find 2 of my chickens that I was missing everyday..the were sitting on the copper pipe running from the air conditioner to the house.......smart birds.....
