This one is so pretty! Not sure which egg it came from but I'm guessing one of @bardies so it would be half silkie. Ideas of color?

Congratulations on your new chicks.
Often different breeds can vary on hatch times by a few hours to a full day.

I've moved eggs to the hatcher today so will be expecting hatch on the 21st. Then will have quail and chicks due on the 25th.

Awe love it! Look at all us crazy chicken ladies (and gentlemen) hatching in November with record lows! ROFL! I did decide today I'm backing down to 2 week hatches instead of 1. I will hatch as long as I'm getting good eggs and don't split up the breeding pens, probably another few weeks.

Decided it is just too cold tonight to leave the little ones out there. Went out at lockup time and a puppy had wiggled out of the box away from the heat lamp and it's littermates. Tonight that would be a deadly mistake. When hubby gets home they will come in to the laundry room for the night.

Good idea....better safe than sorry.

Busy last few days...7 silkies hatched-@ashtree's grey, a blue, 2 splash, 2 white and 1 red. I lost track of them as they were hatching--the white and splash look a lot alike right now! I am selling most of these if anyone is interested. I go out of town on Wednesday, but the hubs and son will be here.

I also slipped and fell feeding and watering the chickens this morning. Thankfully, our neighbor is an orthopedic surgeon. He looked at it tonight. Neither of us were happy. I go in for an X-ray and possible MRI tomorrow. I know I jacked up my MCL. Hopefully my meniscus is intact. I do not have time for this. (Refer to travel plans above. I am not packed.)

Oh no, I hope it's nothing too serious, that must have been a hard fall. I know you're a highly active person so this better be a quick recovery thing.

I'll PM you about the silkie tomorrow. I can barely keep my eyes open. Oh and all the olive eggers are great and the splashes are starting to show the splash coloring. We named all the babies Rhonda :) And the roo from @nanakat has taken to being very protective and helpful with them. I was shocked. He's just perfect tho and I don't say that about many roosters.

@kelielliott :woot looks like you're having a great hatch! And your boy looks so happy in the chick picture :) that's the best part.
