Well, my plans for an incubator, likely just went out the window. In my attempts to sel stuff to keep my head above water, I sold a ham radio to a fellow in the military, on a ship, in the Pacific. Out of the $400 I got for the radio, I spent >$70 to ship it. It just came back, and looks like maybe a mistake on my part, in the address. That means either re-shipping it, now at $74, or refunding the entire $400 that I don't have. So, I guess the incubator, is going to have to wait, and I'll have to continue to have to split my hatches with locals, who have large cabinet incubators. So goes it.....
Unless I can turn a few things around, and try to put my craftsmanship to work. I might try to build one, if I can put the funds together, to buy the nice thick hardwood, necessary, to build the cabinet. I might not have the newest, best grade of tools in the industry, but, dog gone it, I can make things. And, if I have to, I can make this. Build a box in a box, then fill the gap with insulating foam, and buy some of the GQF egg turners to build in to the cabinet. I can do this, darn it.
On another note, someone told me, that as the years goes along, my Cuckoo Marans, eggs will darken. Mine sometimes get a bit darker, but these are pretty typical.
Anyone more familiar with them, that has input, would be welcomed.
11 of the 12 on the right, are all from the Cuckoo Marans. The twelfth one is a Narragansett Turkey egg.
This is a French Black Copper Marans egg a neighbor got, yesterday. Big difference.
