Sure hope everyone has survived the rain storms and has good times planned with family this weekend.
Thank you to our veterans for their service as we pay homage to those who sacrificed for our freedom.
Six inches of rain yesterday and thru the night caused closed roads both sides of town in Meeker and our main creeks were three feet over the 7 foot tin horns. One of the crossover bridges was partially washed out but still passable. A huge burr oak was toppled into and across the water gap. We had three 16 foot cattle panels wired to a 40 foot cable across the gap. That will need to be repaired when the water recedes and before cattle can go to that pasture.
The chicken pens drained better with the trenches we put in this week, but are still soaked. At least the coops are dry. Lost one in the rooster pen and had to bathe and dry one in the Wyandotte pen.
So looking forward to some much needed sunshine!
