Cool pic

Have a tomato question for you (or anyone else for that matter) my tomatoes are taller then me, and now getting taller then the support, should I prune the growth taller then the support or add height to the support. If I trim will I lose tomatoes or will they just add tomatoes to the lower sections?

I trim the tops of my tomato plants and they seem to put on more and stronger stems that hold fruit well.

Thought I'd share pics of my recent rosettes on my La Pass quilt, these aren't done yet but I was posting progress pics on another site and thought I'd share here too while I was at it.

Wow, love the color contrasts - the red and black patterns in the medallion are really eye-catching

It looks like I just bought 6 Rhode Island reds as my start up. I was going to start with chicks but with my move and then the rain got me behind.

No cheesy exudates I can see, just painful red swelling. She had some yellowish pus early on, then some clear tears, and now there's no secretions. I have Duramycin, which is tetracycline hydrochloride, and I just started her on it. Do you think it might work? I'll try the oxine, because at this point the swelling could kill her, so we've reached a do-or-die state. Thanks for the input.

I have used Duramycin, with good luck, for respiratory problems before. It works well on breathing rattles.
I hope you can help your poor girl.

Might she be a bantam? Maybe it was an older bantam chicks that got put in the LF bin by accident.
On the other hand, one of my Lavender Cochin pullets was tiny, nearly only half the size of her sisters. She layed little eggs and didn't live much more than a year. :( She was and adorable, little sweetie.

They are great layers and have very amiable personalities. They would be my first choice for starting in chickens.

NanaKat,
Thank you for the tip about using a soft toothbrush to fluff up chick down. My Marans like to hatch late and sometimes some have stuck down down. The brush works very well.

That is so cute, especially them all bathing!
I got some amazing Silkie and Showgirl chicks from Jeansrie and my Blue Showgirl took the 3 youngest without hesitation.
Hens are so amazing.

So glad she took them right in! Thanks again for helping me out!! I sold quite a few more chicks over the weekend, phew. And then put more eggs in the incubator! Vicious cycle.
