***OKIES in the BYC III ***

well we finally got our big snow of the year. Actually the biggest in several years. Eleven inches and still light snow falling.some of the heaviest snow fall I've seen. But we had ice under it so there is tree damage. I have a pine tree that I brought with me when we moved here. Its about 60 ft tall now. I may have to cut it down it suffered so much damage. But its pretty as only a big snow can be.

Bummer. I think big snows are fun, my car is all wheel drive, but power outages and tree damage is not so fun.

Stay safe and warm! At least drifted snow is a good insulator against the biting winds.
Sure hope your tree just loses a few limbs but keeps it top...sounds like a lodge pole from the height description. They can usually lose those lower branches and keep growing.
Are you going to make snow ice cream?

we ended up with a record for here of 12 inches And it didn't melt much today as we never got above freezing. tonight single digits again. "Its clear with a full moon,it will should be beautiful out,im going to go out and try some photgrapy after while.

We are looking for breeders in our area to buy some show quality chickens for our children to use in 4-h. Can any one help us with this? Thank you.

@ poco I'm sorry. It's hard to suffer a loss like that regardless but when it's the result of someone else's callous actions it really hurts. It's so senseless. Seems like it's been a rough year with dog problems. I recall a number of people on here getting hit. My daughter picked up a dumped Springer Spaniel and brought her to my place thinking she'd found the dog a good home. NOT. When she said she'd brought a dog home, I got outside as quick as possible but she'd already killed 18 birds.
