Michael, thanks for the birds today! They are all roosting now. Put the girls in their own cage & the roo in another. Hope keeping those girls caged for a few weeks will help calm them down. DD put a few eggs she gathered in the incubator. She loves hatching anything.
Hi Everyone!
Sorry I have not been on in a while. My internet is not working right.
As it stands, I plan on being at the Newcastle auction. I am bring some geese to Michael. I am totally looking forward to an auction it has been three weeks and the withdraws are kinda getting painful.
.
Okay so I have a beautiful blue ameraucana cockeral who has gone blind and I do not know what to do for him. He is not completely blind but will be soon. Yes I know culling him would probably be the best thing but when I picked him up he snuggled down in my arms, so will now I can not do the deed.
Plus, as a special ed teacher I have a soft spot for those with disabilities. Would anyone be interested in a sweet blind roo. I put him in the grow out pen so he will not be picked on but I am not sure that is safe enough for him. I know
Oh and by the way, is anyone else having lots of frogs about? I am finding frogs all over my place. Matter of fact there are three of them looking in my window at me right now. I thought it was too dry for them but they are all over here. Found one in my bedroom last week (kinda pervy), by the toilet (at least it was a moist place) and had one jump me a couple of nights ago when I went out to close the coop. Dang thing started climbing my leg and let me tell you there is nothing like having a frog climb your leg.
When I tried to get him off he jumped onto my arm and started climbing my arm so I could not put down. Finally peeled him off and put him by the water trough and ran for the house. And yes I kissed it, thought if it was the persistent it might be a prince.
No such luck, maybe next time.
So I am off to bed, hope everyone has a great Friday. See ya'll Saturday!
Sorry no prince for you this time. Keep trying though.
Poor roo. Hope you find a home for him. He sounds like a keeper.
Wish I had the frog problem you have. There is a toad that comes up on the porch most evening to eat bugs, but not many frogs. They're in the trees everywhere though. I can hear them, but so far no invasion like you've got. Love 'em though.
I'm going to call it a night early too. See you at the auction Saturday.
muesky, i have two almost blind cockerals from betsy and they seem content, in their own pen, close enough to talk to the others but living their little lives, might consider that- if you decide you need to rehome him, i'll take him if he can get out here-
