So good to hear from you! Surgery results sounds good, hope that continues!Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend & is prepared for the cold!
Didn't try to catch up, but just wanted to let everyone know I made it home a few days ago. Ended up with pnemonia at the hospital. Sleeping more than I am awake right now. The tumor marker test that made my surgery so urgent was at 6005 before surgery & is now at 24 so they officially got the whole tummor out. I have to get new images every 4 months, hopefully if it doesnt show any new growth soon life can return to normal. also Makes my lung less urgent, had 2 opinions on if it needed to be removed ASAP & one said yes other said no. Guess I will be after another opinion.
I haven't been out to see any of the birds but have been able to watch the goats through to window. They come up to the back door in hopes of treats.
Since i have been home the most exciting things around here was when the kids found a domestic cat in the barn so DH set a trap & caught a opossuim the same night. I knew it was goin to be rough when alexis found the opossium in the trap & thought it was so cute, then taron fell in love with it.... taron was so mad at josh for not letting her keep it. She wouldnt talk all afternoon. Also a BCM from Jacks eggs we won at poops laid its first egg.
I will try to catch up on post & check back soon. Stay warm everyone.
hope you contune to mend, glad you count is down. I love my goats lol wish they could come up to the back door sometimes. Not look forward to going out in the cold this morning to feed all the critters, i hate the cold so much.Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend & is prepared for the cold!

This evening I was reminded of the joy of a mama hen with her chicks. A hen managed to hide out and hatch 12 chicks Wed. morning, which I didn't immediately try to capture since it is usually much easier to catch the hen and her chicks at night when she is calmer. Unfortunately, when I went looking for the hen this evening she had moved to a corner out of my reach. I fished the hen out with a net but her 12 chicks scattered. For the next 10 minutes there was a constant echo of chicks and mama as they called to each other in the tin barn. I managed to catch the chicks and put them into the cage with the mama hen, but I wasn't positive that I had all of the chicks because of the echo of chick peeps. Once I caught the last chick however it was immediately obvious that there were no more hiding out, because the chicks all settled down under their mama and the hen stopped calling as well.As long as there was even one chick peeping for the hen, she kept calling to it. Once the chick was underneath her warmth, the whole family settled down and got quiet immediately.![]()
