quick question. My roosters have stopped crowing since I got rid of the mean one. i have a pen with turkeys next to the chicken yard. The turkeys will get upon teh branch and set and watch teh chickens and be very verbal while up their. could this affect the roosters from crowing?

Are the turkey heckling them, calling them names?

Its always fun to tell people how pretty their birds are ,but that Jaxom is one ugly turken! Lol Sorry Kass ! I know hes your pet but he sure must have been busy when they were passing out pretty pills!lol The little rumpless guy on the other hand is a doll! I really like the looks of him!

Little Man is not only beautiful (or shaping up to be anyway) but he has an awesome personality, really likes interacting w/ me (hope I'm not setting myself up for a mean roo). Jaxom has changed so much from what he looked like at hatch, I think he is beautiful and can't wait to see what he turns out like, but understand some people have NN envy

Oh Kass those are some beautiful birds!!!!!

Went and bought hay last night for $5 a bale which is cheap IMO. So this weekend I will hopefully be doing "spring cleaning" out in the chicken coops. I know it is a bit early for that but I feel like they need fresh bedding in the pens and I am sure if we get this rain today they will need some in the yards as well.

Has anyone heard from Mitzi? Or did I miss her Saying she would be gone? I miss seeing her posts.

Kass I wasn't trying to be mean,its just the way NN s are .They are either so ugly they are cute or so ugly they are ugly!lol. I love them. Hope to get some more this spring. They are difenately a "Designer" breed!lol.
At least one of my new austroples is laying,got a huge brown egg yesterday. Expect more once they get used to the change,they all have pretty red combs. Going to start work on a bigger pen today. Recycleing is the game,going to make a coop out of an old tranpoline!

Oh no I didn't take what you said as being mean, I was just teasing back that is why I put the big smiley after what I said. I was soooooooooooo NOT offended by what you posted.

Sounds like you have big plans for today, I am hoping to get the rest of my raspberries moved to the new beds today before the big rain so they can get good and rained in. Putting them is is easy peasy, but digging them out not so much! lol

I have a FBCM chick that has a puffy watery eye that sticks shut the eye ball it's self looks fine. I noticed this mornin he's kinda tuckin his head and walkin sideways to the side the bad eye is on. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong with him.
