***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I know the Peeps from the eastern side of the State have been traveling this way for the last couple of yrs and think that it would be nice of us from the West Central side to go east just a few miles.

20010, and 2012 were just a few miles from my house. I don't mind traveling at all this time.

Hello everyone. I am new to chickens and to BYC. Just to tell you a lil bout myself: I am a wife,mother,daughter,sister aunt,friend.
As for all that is mine

: Hubby,daughter,then there are my babies - my 2 boys Chewy-English Lab, Satchel- Puggle, 1 cat my girl Mittens.
As for chickens

, we've built our brooder from one that we saw on here. We do not currently have chicks because I am not one to get the pet before the needed supplies. I am looking at Cochin bantams, plymouth rocks, orpingtons, sussex, but not sure if hatcheries are the way to go or breeders. If breeders are the way do any of you know of some here in oklahoma that are good? If hatcheries are the way do any know of good ones? Also, does anyone know of any good auctions that have chickens or chicken supplies that I might need? I am excited to start get my babies an happy to be here! Also, any and all ideas are very much appreciated, Thank You!

what are some ways to mark chicks so i can tell em apart & know who's who? saw some have used zip ties or Velcro strips on legs are these safe for new chicks?

Suppose to be Buff Orpingtons lady @ tractor supply was not for sure, chicks were all mixed up. What do yall think?

Got em in Idabel Oklahoma this is closest to me only 30 min. from here. I've always gotten good chickens here but I have also found chickens on here may want to look in the Buy-Sell-Trade forum.
