I guess we're going to have to find an auction to go to soon to sell our baby turkeys. We had four people tell us they wanted them so after we hatched them out, we can't get in touch with any of them. Sigh. We could raise them for the freezer but we really don't have the space for that many more turkeys let alone the income to afford to feed them. Turkeys eat a LOT. Won't be setting any more eggs for now. Going to ask for payment in advance next time.

Bad day here ... lost our baby rabbits last night. It just got too cold. We should have brought them inside but didn't realize it was going to be quite so cold and they stayed warm all day yesterday while it cold out. Live and learn I guess but ...

I hate it when we lose any of the babies especially through our own stupidity.

Turkey with the broken leg is back up and running around. We still have a splint on the leg but put her back out with the others today. Young turkey poults are doing well, flying and pretty well feathered out now. The little boys are strutting. I swear that's what male turkeys are born to do.

Young ducks are doing well too. We're going to move them out with our other duck later this week. They went out with the rabbits in the yard today and figured out pretty quickly to avoid them when they started jumping around.

My Mottled cockerel sold for $24.50 a couple of weeks ago! They usually bring 3.00 or 4.00. This is a good year for sellers esp. of Ameraucanas. Chicks were as high as $5.00 for blues!

Evidently my immune system is still very compromised. Only place I went last wk was subway & the auction & now think I have strep. Can't see dr until tomorrow.

Tarons new chicks arrived this AM. Pics will come once they are settled. I checked their tracking a thousand times last night & was so nervous. I sure hate when chicks are in the mail!

Well. I hatched another odd ball NN.

This one has a bald back with a row of chick fur down the center. I'm hoping this one is a rooster, cause if it's a hen, she'll have a problem with a bare back when the roos start mounting her. Maybe I'd need to get her a chicken saddle.
