***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hello Everybody,

Hope everyone's week has been productive. We've been busy with our 4wk old babies and we got 1wk old chicks now!
Chickens are very addictive! Here are our new babies:

This one I have no idea what it is. I know it's cochin from the feathered feet. Could it be a golden laced?

This one is supposed to be a Minorca. What do you guys think?

These two are Buff Orpps, we got them at the auction last wkend.

This one is supposed to be a Golden sexlink, Do you guys agree?

I really have no idea what this one is. I took a pic of it's head since it was unusual to e since it has a T on it.

Same chick as up above, just side view and top of it's head. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Anyhow, having lots of fun with my chicks! They are all well behaved so far and they love to be cuddled with.
i do believe that top one is a gold laced cochin but just a guess since i dont raise lf cochins but the facial coloring resembles my wyandottes and it supposed to be a chocin is how i came up with gold laced cochin lol

i want a incubator!!!!!!!

Yeah I know what you mean. I would love one and our daughter so wants to hatch eggs.

Hearts4animsls it is a gold laced Cochin i have sum just like it if you got at atwoods there all pullets. They also had black large fowl as well in with black pullets.

Update on the chicks hatching today....6 in the brooder now and 7 more pipped.
I did get a pen 10 chick out and another is zipped...so the Black Birchen Wyandotte rooster that died was able to sire chicks. CW and Blue Cochin chicks are hatching. I ususally candle before moving eggs to the hatcher, but this morning was a rush since they were already hatching and CW can respond poorly to temperature changes. So far those are pipped and zipping.
I quickly candled the eggs I was hoping to hatch.

CyuseRanch....There are 4 Pen 15 eggs in the hatcher and all four are moving in the egg....so you should get a good % on those eggs you set for the hatch-along for Easter.

OKRaceFan...What will your Lemon Blue roo produce over Blue hens? hmmmmm? I'll have several pullets available this fall.

Hearts4animals...the black chick does look like Minorca....I have several hens and they started out that way....

done with jury duty, spent a a wonderful day doing nothing but chicken stuff- picked up a couple bantam cochins to give to my silky broody since none of hers hatched- only i didn't ask her first- not gonna happen, she won't take them, but the serama mama did- or at least they are tucked under her wing tonite, hoping there won't be an issue- am still tired, but glad to be done

Congrats on the hatching nanakat, and good news Robin.

Took some pics today I'll break it up into a few posts.
