***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Snuggling a chick is nothing compared to a goat that calls to you everytime they see you & follows you around all over the farm. Goats do come in as many sizes & colors as chickens, so converting should be easy.
We need a smilie that is holding his hands over his ears.
Thank goodness, we have no fence. Then they would be impossible to resist.

My girls whine pathetically every time they see me because they know I am a softie who will let them out to free range. They also follow me around like puppies. Probably because they think I am the treat dispenser.

Hi I don't know if anybody remembers me. I haven't posted in months. I have been super busy with foster kids. I have a question. I know it has been discussed on here. I have a chick with legs that turn outward. I can't remember what it is called or if there is a treatment for it. Any advice would be appreciated. I can post pics in a few.

We have wondered where you have been, so glad to see you posting. We are planning POOPS for the first Saturday in May, hope you can come & bring the kids.

For the chick I use a Band-Aid, cut in half hot dog style (long ways) & hold its legs in place. Does that make an sense at all? sorry, I don't have any pics to show an example. Glad to see you posting again & hope you can make it to poops.

So really I should just splint the legs? You put band-aids on lengthways? I will try that. I wish I could go to POOPS. The babies are 8 months and 17 months, and I also have my Shane (5 years old) Hubby has a class all day every Saturday for 6 weeks starting today. The thought of driving all that way with all these kids and no backup scares me LOL.

Yes splint it. A bandaid works really well, but sometimes I use masking tape. You just need something to hold their legs in the proper parallel position while they strengthen the muscles.
