Also got this via FB this morning:

"LUTHER, CARNEY, LITTLE AXE, DALE, SHAWNEE: I just spoke with a disaster relief coordinator from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He said they have a team of volunteers preparing to deploy specifically to areas outside of Moore. They need a list of families with address and their immediate needs (ie: roof repair, tree remove, temporary shelter, supplies, etc.). Teams will be dispatched this weekend to these homes with supplies, ready to work. Please send addresses, phone numbers, and immediate needs to [email protected]. Thank you."

These are the yellow "Helping Hands" shirts you see at many disaster clean-ups. My hubby went up to Joplin with one group after their tornado and I expect when they have an assignment for his group they will go down to Moore and surrounding areas as well. If you know anyone who has needs in the area no job is too small, they are well organized and send crews of volunteers to help in any way. Just send an e-mail with contact information to the above address.

anyone have muscovy eggs?? i would love some to get rid of these dang flies!
do they actually keep the fly population down? i got guineas when i heard they would help with ticks and i didn't really notice a decrease in the tick population when they were here and they were a pain because i could not get them to roost in the coup at night the owls and coyotes got most of them. But i would love to have something that would eat all the flies with the pigs around we have lots lol. I don't know any ting about keeping ducks though are they easy to coup train or are they like guineas?

Guineas are awesome when it comes to eating ticks, grasshoppers and flies. They are also quite easy to train if you know how to do it and stick to it a short while. I've had several different flocks of guineas (for around 18 years or so now), and found them easy to deal with once I knew how.
