***OKIES in the BYC III ***

my sis has this chick that has it eyes shut&swolling --what can i do for it ?

Sounds like coryza. Birds that recover from this will be carriers and it could happen again to another bird that comes in contact with it. There are multiple threads here dealing with the treatment of coryza or mycoplasma. Unfortunately, the prognosis is not usually good and it is very contagious to other birds. Take it to a vet for a proper diagnosis first, though.

Hey Oklahoma BYC 'ers, I just wanted to tell you all you're in my thoughts and prayers. My community was one of the hardest hit in hurricane sandy. The devastation was overwhelming. And that was with almost a weeks advance notice the storm was coming, I can't imagine having only a moments notice. I've never been to the mid west and have no idea what life must be like with the constant threat of tornadoes. Just hurricanes. so in the fear of saying the wrong thing and offending anyone in this terrible tragedy- i just wanted to say stay strong and I hope the road to recovery is quick.
